DAY 97, Morning
To say Gisela was upset would be an understatement. It was more than just sad. More than anger. She couldn’t even really pin down all the things she was feeling. Soldiers and servants alike took one look at her and scattered. She wanted to cry. She wanted to hurt something. Or someone. She wanted to scream.
Bert was gone. And all she had was a note. A note! He knew he was leaving, and the best he could do was a note!? He wasn’t part of her world. She knew that. She knew she would not have him forever. But she expected him to just … vanish one day. Like any other double. That he knew he was going, and couldn’t even tell her to her face…
Her blind storming through the castle brought her to Anissina’s lab without her realizing it. She stood outside the door for a moment. Maybe, subconsciously, she simply wanted to see the thing that had taken him away. Maybe he had said something more to Anissina that he hadn’t left in the note. Regardless, she pounded on the door.
