Bert didn't know why he woke up with an incredibly awful headache. He felt like he had a hangover, but he didn't remember drinking at all. He didn't actually remember the day before at all. For some reason he was thinking about a T-rex

"You look awful," he stated simply. "Are you ill?"

He shrugged. "Feel kinda hung over, but I don't remember drinking. I actually don't remember yesterday at all. Figured food might help."

He wondered if the man had turned into a child form of himself the day before. Gwendal had spent the day locked in his office trying to reach things and do his work in his smaller form and avoiding others to not be bothered by the whole de-aging situation.
"Tea tends to help too," he added.

He pushed the door open to the dining area and the smell of food hit him harder than he expected. He wasn't sure if he was starving or ready to lose whatever it was might be inside. Regardless, he felt like he should at least try to put food into his stomach. If it wanted to reject it, it could do it later. "You here to eat too?"

Gwendal went towards the kitchens and took a tray and started filling it up with the fresh hot breakfast that the cooks had so conveniently already prepared.
"I enjoy not having to cook my own meals too. That's one of the benefits of living in a castle. Is it like that in your world?"

"I can't cook. Never had to. In college, it was the cafeteria or some restaurants. Or Jules would sometimes cook. But now, I just get room service or eat out. Though, I can manage my way through some cereal if I don't feel like goin' out. I usually have some frozen food I can heat up too." He missed watching Jules cook for him. Her food was always so good and he liked to watch her have fun doing whatever it was she was doing.

"I do wonder what happens to the people from say your world. If you were to return would you have been missing for many weeks or only a few minutes? It's really quite fascinating."
Gwendal piled on a generous portion of bacon and eggs to his breakfast tray and then took a prepared glass of orange juice.
"Would you like to sit together? I'd like to hear more about your sports world. Are you fully recovered from the debris that fell upon you the other day?"

"Well, a bit ago, Gisela and I went back to my my world somehow. It was good. And it was like no time at all passed. Maybe it'll be like that if I go back again." Though, he hoped she'd come with him again.
"It's cool. Gisela fixed me up pretty good. She's really talented, y'know." He snatched a cup of what looked like it might be coffee. "A lot of people think pro sports is all glitz and it really ain't. There's a lot of hard work involved."

He was glad that Bert and Gisela seemed to have a fairly healthy relationship--at least more so than her emotionally hurtful one with the king's double.
"You two seem to be good for one another. You are always getting injured and stabbed and she's able to patch you up," Gwendal teased with a slight crinkling of his eyes as the only clue to his jest. He scooped a spoonful of porridge and shoved it in his mouth and chewed slowly savoring the rich taste that the cooks managed to infuse in even the simplest of foods.

He did give Gwendal a bit of a glare. "I ain't gettin' hurt on purpose. At home I'm never this klutzy. But," he sighed and dumped a little sugar in his coffee to take off the bite, "I am glad she's around to fix me up." He left off the "in more ways than one" but the smirk on his face suggested it.

"Glad she can keep you alive and relatively in one piece," Gwendal agreed. Unlike his girlfriend who would happily maim him and then do her best to put him back together again. "I often fear that my significant other would like to take me apart and reassemble me in a new and improved fashion that would not be to my liking."
A servant arrived sent by Gisela and informed Gwendal of a commotion involving some guards and the attempted capture of Ken. http://omg-kkm.livejournal.com/399961.html#comments
"If you're done with your breakfast, Aldebert, you're welcome to come play a role in palace security--especially since it is your woman that seeks aid."

He was about to continue when the guard came in. He nearly dropped his spork and ran when he heard Gisela's name. Gwendal didn't really need to ask and he'd not even mentioned that for as many times she healed him, he'd saved her. Well, the number might not be completely even, but it was close enough for him.
He jumped up and was almost visibly shaking but clearly in a hurry. "Yeah, sure. Security or whatever. Let's go." He didn't know what the situation was but he was definitely going.
He knew he should have gone to find her before getting food.
