Still, a nervous feeling crept up his back, made his heart race. As if he really, really wasn't supposed to entertain such an idea. He felt a bit twitchy just being outside the castle walls, even though it was where he wanted to be.
"I would like to see him," he admitted. He settled on the blanket and took the food from Gise with a murmur of thanks. At least she helped distract him from the oddness of his thoughts and feelings. He smiled a bit at her excitement over the food and ate his. He didn't have anything to compare it to. Maybe the meat, cheese and crackers his mom sometimes put out when they had guests.
He noted her face when she tried the fruit, and his smile grew. "Is it bad?" He took one to try for himself, and decided he didn't mind the saltiness. But he preferred the apples, which were sweeter. He offered one to her as he retrieved his own.

She continued to eat the fruit with gusto, devouring the whole thing down to the core. "I would like to meet your friend. I like it here, this place reminds me much of Belgium, my home."

She started to clean up the food and everything from their wonderful picnic and place it all in the basket. She started moving at a lightening speed that even surprised her and before she knew it, everything was folded and placed neatly in the basket. They ate more than she realized so there wasn't as much to put away as there was to take out before.

It was unfortunate that he had no shoes, but the path wasn't too rough, if he was careful to avoid any pointy rocks. He started off toward the temple with Gise, his apprehension growing with each step. But he was also hopeful, for there might be answers, and an old friend he hadn't seen in a very long time.
