DAY 90, Morning

Apr 15, 2012 20:54

Ken stared up at his ceiling for a long while after waking. Something was off, but he couldn’t put his finger on what. Well, his clothes were too big, but he couldn’t recall if they always had been or if this was a new thing. There was nothing else to wear, except a too-large pair of pants, so he had to assume the oversized shirt was all he had. He ( Read more... )

Gise woke up in an unfamiliar room that looked very much like her own room only it was far larger, had great windows which let in an awesome amount of sunlight, and a high ceiling. She sat up in that unfamiliar bed and looked around, and then it struck her that she was in another world and this was her twin's room. She swung off the covers and got ready to step down off the bed when she noticed her feet didn't quite reach the floor. She placed her index finger on her lower lip and looked up blankly as she whispered to herself qu'est-ce que çe? She then shrugged her shoulders and proceeded to hop down off the bed and crouched as she landed, much like a cat. She said to herself, "Sacré bleu! I guess the bed was really that high off the ground. Je ne se pas!" So she looked around for a mirror and found a full length one on the other side of the room, she said "Ah! Une mirroir!" As she had a eureka moment, she tended to have a lot of those, she thought. And as she smiled with a huge grin on her face in a look of self-satisfied conquest, she began to walk to the mirror until she noticed that she wasn't walking on the floor anymore but on her nightgown, as she caught herself before she tripped on herself. She stopped and looked down at the nightgown and lifted it up above her ankles and thought, "This was not this big when I went to sleep, at least I do not think it was." She was very puzzled, but she continued to the mirror, being careful to hold the skirt of the nightgown above her ankles as she walked ever so gingerly. Once she got to the mirror, she took a deep breath noticing how many more steps it took her to get there. She stood in front of it, closed her eyes, dropped the skirt at her feet and put her arms out before she opened them and looked at herself in the mirror. She starred at herself in the mirror and thought, "I look the same, but something is différent." She continued to glare at herself in the mirror and noted the things she already noticed since she woke up. She then looked at her face and started to notice the first thing that was different; she saw that she no longer had the beautifully sculpted porcelain-shaped face that she did the previous day, but that it was just a little more pudgy, she thought, more cherubic. Then it finally struck her that the thing that was different was that she was a child again, or rather, in her body as she was in childhood. She thought to herself and questioned her reflection, "Dix?...Non, Huit. Certainment, Huit!...Je suppose." As she trailed off her declaration to herself with more uncertainty than she liked.
