DAY 88, Mid-Day

Mar 19, 2012 14:52

Ken had fallen asleep at the wrong hour. As soon Wolf left him late the previous night, he had opened the first volume of the Sage’s memoirs began reading. He was partway through the second volume when his head dropped, his glasses slipped off, and he tipped over sideways in dead sleep. If he had a window, he would have known it was just after sunrise. An hour later his breakfast tray scraped across the floor through the open door.

Sometime later, his breakfast was still there, but no longer appetizing. It had been oatmeal. Now it was a cold brown blob. At least there were still the muffins Wolf had brought on the desk.

Ken snorted softly and rubbed at his eye. It was probably time to get up and… be bored at doing nothing. At least until Wolf came around to visit again.
