Day 88 - late morning

Bert wasn't really happy about the interaction with Yuuri the night before, mostly because he didn't get to pound his face in, but he did get a few snarky words in, so he felt pretty good about that. His face didn't really hurt after a while from where Yuuri hit him

Things were slowing down. People were healing. Gisela was having trouble tracking down Wolfram to see if he was resting like he was supposed to, and she was concerned he wasn't following orders again. But most others were recovering well. Even Julia, who she was told was sitting up on her own now, and even made demands to eat on her own (though her arms were burned and she had trouble holding a spoon).

She was on her way to the library when she spotted Bert in the hall. Her pace slowed as she drew near, and she smiled. "Hey." She glanced at the paintings, and back at him. "Do those interest you?"

Gisela! He turned with a bright smile and took her face into his hands and kissed her.

"Hey babe," He slipped an arm around her. "Not in particular, but since I can't read anything, I can look at pictures. You done workin'?

She put her hands over his and rose up into the kiss, then leaned against him when his arm went around her.

"Ah. I see. They are nice pictures." She smiled. Though his question was difficult to answer. "I was going to do some research..." It wasn't vital, however. She sighed. "I suppose I can put it off a while..."

"Yeah, nice. Who are these guys anyway?" A few looked a bit bloody and whatnot, but the artwork looked good. And the people painted in them were pretty attractive, compared to some of the weird things he'd seen when drug through museums at home. But her putting off work had a nice ring to it.

"Yeah? But if you want, you can do some reasearch on me. I'll be your gineua pig." He grinned and squeezed her a little tighter.

"Dead heroes. Kings. A war that was fought long ago. You could ask my father about it. He could probably tell you more than you want to know." She smiled upat him.

"Really... Is that where you're mind is going already?" she admonished. "I haven't even eaten or bathed."

He laughed. "Nah, that's good enough."

"Hm? Is it wrong to want to spend some time with my girl? But if you'd like, we can get you some dinner first." It was so rare she suggested food herself, he wasn't going to deny her! Though, of course he'd follow her to the bath, given the opportunity also. "I was trying to read some of your books again. They're so damn boring."

"We can spend time doing anything." She rolled her eyes a bit, and started toward the dining area. She laughed a bit and reached for his hand. "Are they? I don't think so. I'm sorry. Maybe you should have grabbed some books more suited for yourself as well. Though, I guess you weren't planned on coming back..."

"I'm not much of a reader anyway. The occasional sports bio or somethin' like that." He split her fingers with his and walked with her towads the dining area. It was late for breakfast, but he could go for an early lunch or just watch her eat. Though he doubted she'd like that. "I didn't think I would, but I dunno, I'm not broken up about it. I get to still spend time with you, after all." He grinned. He knew he was being cheesy and mushy and probably sounded cliche and stupid, but chicks like that stuff, and he liked this chick.

She blushed and nudged him with her shoulder, her hold on his hand tightening. "I'm not sorry you came back with me." Though she hoped Yuuri was okay. Or would be okay. He was young ,and attractive. He would find someone else! Or someone else would find him!

"Good! Because then this would be a little weird." Her nudge was cute, though he pretended it had more impact and overdramatized being pushed aside.

When they got to the dining area, he opened the door with his free hand and held it for her to go through first.

She brought a hand to her mouth and laughed. "Yes. I supposed it would be."

She knew her little self couldn't have made him move like that, so she gave him a "yeah right" look.

She thanked him as she went ahead of him into the dining area and found a place for them to sit, and asked for some toast and tea from a maid. Aaaand maybe an egg. She was a little more hungry than usual.

Ok, overdramatic actions not deemed humorous. He made a note of it.

He raised an eyebrow when she actually ordered an egg. More than just toast! He asked for some coffee and a muffin if there were any left over. The one he had with his breakfast was pretty good, even if he couldn't identify the fruit. It was good, but the green color was weird. "So, people finally healing up and shipping out of the infirmary? You should go on a vacation to recharge." With him, of course.

She'd been working hard. It took a lot of energy! So maybe she felt like eating a little more than usual.

"Maybe..." She folded her arms on the table while she waited for their food to arrive. "Though I kind of considered our trip to your world a vacation." Though an unplanned one. She had been forced away from work for a whole day.

"I meant a little longer than a day. Like a whole week or somethin'. Or maybe even a few days. Like go to the beach and get some sun and play in the water. No responsibilities. Just a good time. Wait, do you guys even have beaches here?" The thought of Gisela in a bikini was kinda hot, though she'd probably be the one piece type. Still would be pretty sexy.

"A week?" She looked horrified at the tought of being away for so long. She'd been stuck in bed for that long once, and she failed to stay away from work, even when she promised to rest. "We have beaches. There are oceans. We have our own fleet of ships. It wouldn't take long to get to them."

Ok, a week vacation is definitely off the table. His entire time here was a vacation and he was lacking in things to do. A change in scenery would be nice with taking in some sights.

He was relieved this world wasn't devoid of the beach. Though, he hoped things at the beaches here were similar to the ones back home. "I don't think a fleet is entirely necessary. People here go to the beach to chill, make sand castles and swim and all, right?" Well, castles were more for the kids, but he was covering his bases.
