"Day 81" - Morning #2, Bert's World

Gisela woke slowly, and uncharacteristically early. The room was dark, which was how she liked her room. But as her senses pulled her out of sleep, she remembered she wasn’t in her room. She hadn’t gone home overnight. She was still laying on top of the itchy floral blanket in Bert’s hotel room, and the matching curtains were blocking the morning sun. She had turned over at some point, but she could feel Bert’s warm body at her back, and his arm around her. She smiled a little and laced her fingers through his. His shirt was twisted up around her, a sleeve hanging over one hand. Wondering why she was awake already, and not in any hurry to end this comfortable feeling, she squeezed her eyes shut and curled up trying to steal a little more sleep, though she knew it was pointless.
