Day 81, Bert's Earth, morning

Sep 25, 2011 20:54

Bert was up early as usual to work out and it was a typical morning - except when he walked out of the bath to head to breakfast. The hallway was no longer the castle halls, it was a hotel room. The one he was in before he woke up in that crazy world. He was home! He couldn't believe it! He went to the front door of the suite and opened it to ( Read more... )

"I didn't want to hurt him. Or you. Anyone. I didn't know what I wanted. I still don't. Not really." She hugged her legs tighter and smiled at the string of compliments. Even laughed a little. A line of guys? "You think too highly of me."

She bit her lip. "You've been very understanding through all of this." There was a note of disbelief. "I don't know if I want to wait. Can we just take things one step at a time and see what happens?"

"I don't think so. I actually think you're too good for some jock like me. I ain't too good with smart conversation. I guess I saw how much of a jerk my old man was to my ma and I don't think girls should be treated so shitty. I guess Jules and Gis liked that? I dunno."

He sat up and angled towards her. "Whatever it is you want. You make the call. You wanna have baby steps, I can try that. If you wanna dive in, I'm game too." He reached out and put his hand on her foot - since it was the closest thing he could reach and hopefully not intrusive, unless she wanted it to be.

"I'm not too good for anyone."

Her toes wiggled under his hand and she unfolded a bit. "I'm so tired of thinking about it, and agonizing, and worrying. Let's just do what feels right. I'll deal with the consequences as they come." After all, he was home. If... when she went home, he wasn't going with her.

It was too much of a point to argue, so he let it drop. It wouldn't get anywhere anyway.

He smiled a little more. He wondered if he was being a little too bold, but what felt right to him was ignoring the nonsense that just happened because of Nigel. He moved a little closer to her and reached up to thread some of the hanging hair around his finger. "Then don't think about it."

She swallowed and leaned back against the couch, her hands still loosely holding her knees. She tilted her head toward where his finger tugged on her hair and hesitantly reached up to brushed her hand just under his jaw. "I'm not."

No thinking. Something Bert was great at. And it was the first time she touched him without necessity, without healing. He already forgot the stupid drama from earlier. It seemed like forever ago when he kissed her the first time, but this time she wasn't caught unaware and he only had all that time to suppress doing it again. While he let the hair unravel from his finger so he could slip it behind her head, his other hand found her hands to try and guide them off her knees. Her lips were soft and held the faint flavor of raspberries from dinner. It only drove him to try to kiss her a little deeper.

Breath coming quick, Gisela closed her eyes and pressed into the kiss, lips parting to take in as much as she could. Even his kisses felt strong. She leaned closer to him, one hand ghosting over his shoulder. She let him have the other, and curled her fingers around his.

As much as Bert would love to push forward, this was fine for now. She was the one that said one step at a time, so he would endure. Kisses were always better when they meant something, and he could handle this for a bit. Her small hand entwined with his kept him from traveling hands, which might work against him. But he felt like he'd accomplished something huge and wasn't going to rush his prize.

He paused, pulling back slightly, a smile on his face and a bit heavier breath. He didn't say anything at first, but took the hand over his shoulder and held it against his chest. "It doesn't even beat this hard on the field." His words were whispered briefly before he joined their lips together again.

She kept her hand over his heart, feeling each beat against her palm. Her own heart was hammering, and she made a small sound as her fingers gripped his shirt briefly, and then relaxed. She pulled away form the kiss and lay her head against his shoulder, catching her breath.

He didn't want the kissing to stop, but he definitely didn't want to suffocate her either. With her head on his shoulder, he had full view of her somewhat exposed neck and back and his own heavy breath brushed against it. He let her continue to catch her breath but he wasn't about to let the opportunity lapse and tilted his head to put his lips against the crook of her neck.

Her eyes blinked open and a small shudder ran down her spine at the feel of his lips on her neck. It was a sensitive area for her, and she gasped out his name.

Bert stopped long enough to let out a "hmm?" but continued on. He moved a little towards her shoulder. If he was to leave his mark, he'd at least make it wasn't in a potentially obvious place for her. He would have made it more clear just to spite Yuuri easier, but it would bring her too much trouble. He didn't want her to despise him. He longed to touch her more intimately, but he'd wait a little longer. This was good. It reminded him of high school, just less awkward.

She didn't have anything to say, and she didn't really think he expected her to. It felt good, what he was doing, and she didn't want it to stop. Not yet. Her arms moved to encircle him, one hand dragging through his hair, while she moved her head just enough to leave kisses along his throat.

Gisela surprised him with her kisses but in a good way. He let her kiss where she wanted and paused on his end. His one hand was now searching for the hem of her dress, aiming to slide his hand up her outer thigh.

Her kisses faltered as she felt where his hand was going. She felt warm all over, and dizzy, and nervous, and she wasn't going to think. She put a bit of pressure on the back of his head, urging him to turn so she could find his lips again.

Bert had a decent understanding of these kinds of silent cues and smiled as he found her lips once again. He narrowed his eyes to look into hers briefly, but let them close and the feeling and darkness lead on. Or stop if she protested. Though he had found the soft skin of her leg, he kept his hand to the outside, lightly stroking it with his thumb. His kiss intensified briefly, but he scaled back to keep her interest.

He was finding that it was starting to get a little hot and while he was good at coordination, doing two different things with his hands was too much for him and he abandoned her leg to fuss with the buttons on his shirt.
