Day 72 to day 73 Campsite

Apr 11, 2011 21:41

The Princess had agreed to Yuuri’s request. Just as expected, it would take time to get things sorted and ready for moving and because of that they would have to make camp. The Salamander had remained, surprisingly and looked to the Princess for direction. She spoke with him kindly but firmly and for some strange reason he did as she requested. ( Read more... )

Yuuri had talked with the princess, he was glad she was able to make good with the salamander tribe member and seeing the agreement he had with her only made his resolve to try to further understand the salamander tribe. He felt the princess truly wanted to have her chance to talk to the humans so he knew she wouldn't try anything hasty. He felt for the most prt safe. Especially since the smell wasn't heading there way.

"You can relax," Yuuri said, making his way over to Wolfy once everything was settled. He knew the other must be mad, he also knew that Wolfy his his hurt alot better then Wolfram did. Which made noticing it so much harder. "Your not mad are you?"

“Of course I’m mad!!” Wolf retorted and crossed his arms. He lifted his chin and tossed his head which caused his curls to fluff in that way Murata loved to adore.

He turned slightly as if to ignore Yuuri. “You might have been hurt! It was reckless and stupid! You didn’t even bring Morgif with you. We had no idea what we were going to find."

He was clearly not enjoying standing up but he was too stubborn to sit.

"If I had brought Morgif you might of known it was me, beside with the way things turned out do you think my other self would of been very good at talking to the princess?" He was horrified to think of the things his other self might of said. Especially seeing as how beautiful the princess was.

"I'm not hurt, you are." Yuuri smiled weakly, reaching out to put his hand on Wolfys arm. He tried coaxing the other to sit down. "Everyone else is heading to bed, you should too. You don't have to be stubborn if your hurt."

“Hmph!” Wolf sighed and the light pressure on his arm finally got him to relent and sit down on one of the nearby tree-stumps. He didn’t like sitting on the stump and eventually sort of slid to the ground and leaned back against it.

He had packed overnight gear on his horse. So there was a small tent, a bedroll and extra blanket just in case.

The tents were all near the fire and there were guards patrolling the parameter. A few beads of sweat trickled down his neck. “I should have known it was you.” He scowled, now understanding why Gunter had been so overprotective. "I'm not hurt, it's just been a long day." he lied. He'd been on the go since dawn even before the stones went missing. He'd been at work.

"Yuuri... oh Shinou's balls, it's useless. You'll always be reckless!" he glared. "Do you have any idea how many people are probably worried about you by now? They must be throwing fits at the castle."

"The other me is there, they'll never know the difference." He said it with a lack of confidence, because his other self was very different. He let his hand fall away from Wolfys arm.

"I know I said I wouldn't come along, but when I heard that the dignitaries were being delayed by a day I couldn't just sit around to twiddle my fingers." He took a seat besides Wolfy, tucking a leg against his chest so he could rest his arm on it. "You and Wolfram were right...I'm reckless...I just don't want to be a king that sits around I want to take action. How can I ask people to make change if I don't do it myself?...also, for those things I said on the way here. I didn't mean them I, ugh, just was trying to act the part." His smile weakened and he shrugged a bit, rubbing the back of his neck to relieve some of the embarrassment.

Wolf’s cheeks tinted, “I ah-“ He remembered his reactions to some of what had occurred. “It’s fine,” he said gruffly. “I know you didn’t mean them. You were acting the part, and you’re right, I don’t know how he would have handled the Princess.” As much as he was angry that Yuuri had done what he did, he did have a point. A King that did not take action was a King in name only.

“If you don’t mind, I need to get out of this jacket.” It was constricting him, and his back muscles were really sore. He didn’t really wait for an answer, unlike Wolfram, he didn’t mind not being completely covered up.

“Murata helped my ankle earlier today so it should be fine."

He didn't have much time to react as Wolfy started to remove his jacket. It was unnervingly difficult to not stare so he turned his head away instead. The other's undershirt was still sticking from being wet only a two or three hours ago. "I-It's fine."

"Your ankle?" Yuuri asked, looking back only to avert his eyes to Wolfys face. Face- look at the face, the face just like Wolframs...- ergh. "Did you hurt yourself earlier?"

Wolf put the jacket to the side. “During the battle with the Salamanders one had grabbed me with his tongue and held me upside down while we fought.” He explained. “I didn’t realize how tightly until later, I was on an adrenalin rush.” His undershirt still felt sticky and he didn’t like that, it needed to be set out to dry. “You should take yours off too and let the fire warm it.” He gestured to Yuuri’s jacket. He removed the last layer of clothing and indeed it did look like he had taken a beating from getting tossed against that rock wall. Nothing bleeding, of course, just bruises that would be all sorts of pretty colors soon. “Don’t worry, stick close to me, and I’ll keep you warm.” He would ensure the fire would be warm enough for both of them.

Wolf had somehow become more comfortable with Yuuri than Yuuri was with him. A wiser person would know that it probably had something to do with being satisfied on a regular basis, but Wolf wasn't too good at those sort of wise thoughts. "Are you alright? She said a lot of things."

"Ugh-" Yuuri stared, but his attraction turned to worry as he saw how hurt the other was. his scars also reminded him that he wasn't really looking at Wolfram. Heh, he was a cheater- wait they weren't even really together why did he think that- ohgod
"I'll be fine, Your the one taking all this clothes off. Don't catch a cold." Yuuri took off his jacket anyway, laying it aside to dry.

"That sounds painful, you tell me to be careful but..." Yuuri sighed. "I know, she seems very upset for her people. I feel for her...I just don't know exactly what we can do. It sounds to me like there was a oil spill or something." Whatever Shin Makouku or the people here used for energy in that way. "Once it gets into the oceans it's almost impossible to get out...I've seen some pictures of animals who suffered. It's terrible."

This time it was Wolf who couldn’t help but stare. He thought he’d grown comfortable, but Yuuri still looked so much like... Agh! He pictured Murata’s hurt eyes and he couldn’t stand the thought of seeing them hurt, so he had to ignore how beautiful Yuuri looked and smiled faintly. After all, this was not the Yuuri from his world, it was only an echo of an attraction. Here he was determined to just be the friend Yuuri needed. “I think maybe she wanted your attention. There are better ways to go about it, but she probably didn’t think she had any other choice. “Hmph, I would never catch a cold. I’m a Fire Mazoku. Warm blooded. Speaking of Fire Mazoku’s. Wolfram. You know he’s going to be furious.. more furious than I am. Especially when you bring home a pretty Princess."

His skin glowed in the firelight, even exhausted from the day, Wolfram just had this glow about him.

Yuuri sighed, knowing full well how Wolfram would react. "He might set me on fire this time, especially since I said all those things..." He was mostly talking to himself, softly under his breath. But Wolfy might hear it. "You could very well catch a cold, so just make sure you take care of yourself...also, the princess is going for political purposes, he'll understand. You'll explain it to him, right?" He knew Wolfram trusted his other blond half.

"Said what things?" Wolf's ears perked up as he leaned closer. "I'll try and talk to him but I can't guarantee anything."

"Why don't you sleep near my tent, or in my tent while I stay out here." Wolf suggested. "That way I can tell him I had my eye on you the entire time." He tried moving, but his body was so sore he just stayed right where he was instead. It wasn't like he could do much of anything at all anyway in this condition so his other self and Murata had nothing to worry about. Mostly.

He reached out to touch Yuuri's shoulder. Given the pain, he found himself saying something he never thought he would. He spoke low so that no one else could hear him ask for help. "Before we turn in, could you...uh..." he blushed again, "bring me a cloth dipped in some water actually?"

Yuuri smiled weakly, glad for the distraction. He wasn't sure if he wanted to talk about how things were going with Wolfram with...a Wolfram.

"Of course," He took the others hand gently, giving it a squeeze before going over to a bag layed out. He returned shortly with a damp cloth that was soaked in warm water from the fire.

"Do you need it on your foot? Or your back?" Yuuri asked, letting a hand rest gently on Wolfys leg, ready to help him with whatever injury hurt. Even if it wasn't his wolfram...he couldn't help but want to take care of him. They were just so similar.

Wolf didn’t want to take off his boot, he was afraid that if he did he might not be able to get it on again. He didn’t want to see how swollen it would get. “Back.” He directed. “Here, let me see the cloth.” He was fine with Yuuri’s hand on his leg. Strangely. He’d expected himself to jump or get nervous, but it felt ok. It sort of felt like when Conrad touched him. It wasn’t the touch of a lover and he knew the difference now. It was the touch of someone who really cared about him. He focused his Maryoku a bit to heat up the cloth. He wondered if it would feel better lying down on his bedroll or in Yuuri’s lap. “I should probably lie down somewhere.”

He looked at his tent, and looked at Yuuri. “Here or in there?” It would be sort of close quarters in the tent and probably much less compromising outside. "Maybe just bring my bedroll from in there and I'll lie down on it here."

Gunter sat on the opposite side of the fire from the boys and watched them while watching the princess. He had made a barrier around the stones that only he could touch them without being jolted to cancel it. He was a lot more relaxed, but none the less careful. He knew Yuuri was good for his word, but was the princess? And what were they to do with the salamander? It stressed him a little knowing this was a great opportunity for something yet the situation was not nearly good for it. Though it wouldn't hurt to lighten his mood a little. And his near perfect body was half exposed with his shirt hanging on a nearby tree ( ... )

Yuuri had handed over the cloth easily, knowing full well that even though a Wolfram had always been insistent on touching his back or cleaning it that he might be self conscious or hesitant if Yuuri had ever asked to do the same. It was kind of funny, but Wolfy would be even more hesitant because of his scars.- well that part wasn't the funny part about it ( ... )
