Day 65, Late Morning

Oct 09, 2010 22:38

Gisela had stayed up the entire night looking after her father. It turned out, she didn't have to. He slept through the night. But she had to be sure he wouldn't wake and sneak off like so many of her patients were wont to do. (Why did they do that!? Was it so terrible to be under her care ( Read more... )

Adelbert was still confused as to this place, not understanding where to go in a big castle and even more disturbing, the fact he was pink! He was assured no one was going to hurt him, but now he was PINK! It looked rather awful with his blond hair too.

As he aimlessly roamed, slightly hungry, he tried to ask a maid for directions to the kitchen but she was completely incoherent. Not very helpful. Of course there were a few with some animal parts, but he wasn't sure if that was normal or not. But he felt slightly comforted (not by much) when he saw a soldier with an unhealthy skin tone.

He was about to give up and just go find someplace outside to work out a little and pretend he wasn't pink when he turned the corner to see Gisela in a rather fun outfit skirting against a wall. She seemed to have some things she didn't have the day before. He wished his former girlfriend Gisela would have worn something like that. It was rather sexy.

He tried his best to keep his eyes where they belonged, and greeted her. "Hey, good

Oh, great. Great! Just... great.

"Um!" She looked around wildly. And then up at the man. "Bert! Hi! You're pink..."

Why couldn't she have changed colors!? Then at least she could wear her usual clothes and not worry about a tail that wanted to curl up instead of down.

"Can I ... help you?" She started inching down the hall a bit, hoping the answer was no because she really didn't need him looking down at her. Oh god! Could he see down her dress!?

He grunted at her observation. "I am. I don't know why either! I just woke up and was this color and I can't find the baths to try and wash it off! I saw some others with issues, but..." He looked at Gisela's tail for a second. "That look works for you."

"Welcome to the castle," she replied sarcastically, throwing her hands up. "Don't worry, things like this happen pretty regularly. You'll get used it. And it's not permanent. ...Usually..."

She frowned at his last comment and shoved her tail back behind her. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"I just meant it looks cute on you." What happened to the type of woman that would love compliments?

"So this is typical? How does everyone put up with it? There has to be a source, right?" That was one of the things he learned from his girlfriends - since they were always so science-y.

"R-really?" She looked doubtful. "Thank you...?"

She nodded. "Yes, there is usually a source. And that source is usually Anissina. We put up with it because there isn't anything we can do about it, really. Most of the time, it's harmless. It will wear off, or she will find a way to reverse the effects - I hope."

"Of course. You have great assets, it would be a shame to not show them off from time to time. And the tail adds some cuteness to it."

"Anissina?" That was a slightly familiar name, though he thought he only heard it in passing once or twice in college. "Why can't anything be done? If she's the trouble maker, just evict her or something. Or call the cops." Wait, it would wear off? Did that mean a bath wouldn't solve this problem?

She was turning red and getting fidgety now. "...How on earth does a tail...Nevermind. I don't want to know." And he was beginning to sound like Yuuri, which was making her uncomfortable. She gripped the front of her dress and pulled the skirt down a little.

"We can't evict her! She's a noble, for one. And we can't call... c-cops? What are cops?" She shook her head. "It's not a big deal. Really. You look... fine... At least pink is sort of close to an actual skin tone? One of the maids is blue."

It was very reminiscent of his former girlfriend with how modest she was, so for now he stopped commenting on her appearance.

"Cops are police. Um... They're the ones that protect the people from crime, arrest criminals, give out parking tickets, and stuff. Don't you have those here?" Well, minus the parking part, since he doubted they even knew what a car was. "Isn't there someone that could strongly request she take residence elsewhere or something? She sounds dangerous."

He didn't quite agree about pink looking fine, but it was probably better than blue. Maybe.

"...Soldiers?" That was the closest she could imagine to what he was talking about. The thought of any soldier trying to exert any authority over Anissina almost made her laugh. "Ah... Lord von Walde, possibly, but he wouldn't dare." She waved a hand dismissively. "She isn't so bad."

"So, um... Oh! Did you say you were going somewhere?"

What kind of corruption did this place have that a crazy woman couldn't be trifled with? She might be nobility, but she's not the queen. There was a demon king, right? Maybe he should do something... Regardless, he scoffed at himself for this entire batch of insanity.

"Yeah, I don't know where I'm going, so I can't seem to find where to wash up or eat. This place is too big and I'm lost." He was fully expecting someone to show him around. This display of woman would at least give him something pleasant to look at along the way.

"I see. Well... I..." She cringed a little at the thought of actually wandering the castle like this, but someone needed her help. "I can show you around... Where were you looking to go first, to wash up or eat?" Say eat!

"I guess breakfast first. But how does anyone remember where to go around here? It's so big!" He looked down the hall where he came and then towards where he was going. it seemed endless with a few halls branching off of this corridor.

He needed a GPS.

She may have looked a little too relieved when he said breakfast first. Baths were dangerous territory, and best avoided, for as long as possible.

"I've lived here my whole life. But I can get you a map until you learn the layout." She moved away from the wall with some reluctance. "The kitchen is this way." She folded her hands behind her, to keep the tail down, and started walking down the hall.

"Alright." Good, a map. Though a pretty personal tour guide was much more exciting. Even if she did look like her.

"So what's there to do around here? I mean, besides get turned into colorful creatures." He wondered if the bars were good, though he doubted there were night clubs.

"Depends on what you like to do, I suppose." She shrugged. "I'm boring and work too much, so I'm not the best to ask. There's a baseball field. It's not... um... football? But... close enough? Or, if you know how to use a sword, many make use of the training fields. The village isn't too far, either. I'm sure you could find a drinking partner, if you're one of those. There's a library, as well..."
