Gisela had stayed up the entire night looking after her father. It turned out, she didn't have to. He slept through the night. But she had to be sure he wouldn't wake and sneak off like so many of her patients were wont to do. (Why did they do that!? Was it so terrible to be under her care

As he aimlessly roamed, slightly hungry, he tried to ask a maid for directions to the kitchen but she was completely incoherent. Not very helpful. Of course there were a few with some animal parts, but he wasn't sure if that was normal or not. But he felt slightly comforted (not by much) when he saw a soldier with an unhealthy skin tone.
He was about to give up and just go find someplace outside to work out a little and pretend he wasn't pink when he turned the corner to see Gisela in a rather fun outfit skirting against a wall. She seemed to have some things she didn't have the day before. He wished his former girlfriend Gisela would have worn something like that. It was rather sexy.
He tried his best to keep his eyes where they belonged, and greeted her. "Hey, good

"Um!" She looked around wildly. And then up at the man. "Bert! Hi! You're pink..."
Why couldn't she have changed colors!? Then at least she could wear her usual clothes and not worry about a tail that wanted to curl up instead of down.
"Can I ... help you?" She started inching down the hall a bit, hoping the answer was no because she really didn't need him looking down at her. Oh god! Could he see down her dress!?

She frowned at his last comment and shoved her tail back behind her. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"So this is typical? How does everyone put up with it? There has to be a source, right?" That was one of the things he learned from his girlfriends - since they were always so science-y.

She nodded. "Yes, there is usually a source. And that source is usually Anissina. We put up with it because there isn't anything we can do about it, really. Most of the time, it's harmless. It will wear off, or she will find a way to reverse the effects - I hope."

"Anissina?" That was a slightly familiar name, though he thought he only heard it in passing once or twice in college. "Why can't anything be done? If she's the trouble maker, just evict her or something. Or call the cops." Wait, it would wear off? Did that mean a bath wouldn't solve this problem?

"We can't evict her! She's a noble, for one. And we can't call... c-cops? What are cops?" She shook her head. "It's not a big deal. Really. You look... fine... At least pink is sort of close to an actual skin tone? One of the maids is blue."
Reply
"Cops are police. Um... They're the ones that protect the people from crime, arrest criminals, give out parking tickets, and stuff. Don't you have those here?" Well, minus the parking part, since he doubted they even knew what a car was. "Isn't there someone that could strongly request she take residence elsewhere or something? She sounds dangerous."
He didn't quite agree about pink looking fine, but it was probably better than blue. Maybe.

"So, um... Oh! Did you say you were going somewhere?"

"Yeah, I don't know where I'm going, so I can't seem to find where to wash up or eat. This place is too big and I'm lost." He was fully expecting someone to show him around. This display of woman would at least give him something pleasant to look at along the way.

He needed a GPS.

"I've lived here my whole life. But I can get you a map until you learn the layout." She moved away from the wall with some reluctance. "The kitchen is this way." She folded her hands behind her, to keep the tail down, and started walking down the hall.

"So what's there to do around here? I mean, besides get turned into colorful creatures." He wondered if the bars were good, though he doubted there were night clubs.
