And it's about time to update. I honestly haven't had more than half an hour to myself all week with sports and prefect training and whatnot. Saint Mary's thought it would be great and convenient to jam every little thing into a schedule that has only 2 chances for me to take a shower in the day, each no more than 30 minutes. Good, because with two practices every single day this week those two showers are what I need. And with that said, we have no hot water.
Anyway. This past week has been crazy, if it wasn't obvious enough. It's pre-season and student leader training week, so all the athletes and members of student government/prefects/club leaders are here. The schedule is psycho and you're screwed over if you're here for both, like me. I've had field hockey from 7 am to 8:30, a tiny sliver of time to shower and eat breakfast, then meetings until lunch, maybe 10 minutes for myself, meetings all afternoon, then field hockey again from 4:30 until 6:30, and then some required fun usually from 7-9:30.
I had an update all geared up and now it just kind of went away. It was good. Oh well.
Tomorrow is registration for returning students and move-in day for the rest of the boarders. I have to be in Holt at 7:30, but at least we get an awesome breakfast. I have to get all my junk, patch together an excuse for why I don't have my themes for summer reading, and then book it to field hockey try-outs at 4:30. Same thing for Saturday, but that's the day for new students to register.
I guess I can't really make a great update on today though. It's been pretty much the same as yesterday and day before. Practice wasn't that bad, except for the 50 yard sprints that are Terrence's idea of fun. After that I helped set up things for registration and ended up in the supply room with Leslie and Kyle blowing up balloons, trying on the gladiator suit, wearing Irish hats, laughing our asses off and just not doing any work at all. Then I fiiiiiinally had a free afternoon that I spent sleeping. Second practice wasn't bad since we just did strength training and some drills. I'm happy to announce that 7 am practices are overrrrr. Then I treated myself to a shopping spree in Target. It rocks my world and floats my boat.
Summer reading was a bust. I love how I've read like 10 other books this summer and haven't even touched the one I was supposed to read in the first place. Luckily it's not that long. I didn't turn in my themes last year either, so I don't think it's going to be a big deal. They're never really hardcore about themes, but they're going to be a help with the essay on Monday. But that's what Sparknotes is for too. Sorry Ben Franklin. You just don't rule.
Mkay well I was on the phone with Culbreth for the last half hour and have to cut this baby short. More tomorrow, if there's some time. I'm out.
