IC!Ed: *has a carrying basket in one arm, gathering vegetables and small things; Annie is clinging to the other hand, walking unsteadily next to him, occasionally picking things up off the floor and putting them where they don't belong*
P!Al: *looking longingly at the candy and debating whether or not he should buy some when he spots Ed* Hey! You're that one guy that's not-brother!
IC!Ed: *looks in his direction, staring* ... Um. Oh, you're that Al. *goes back to shopping*
NPC!Annie: *stares*
P!Al: *follows him* You can't just walk away from me!
IC!Ed: I think that's exactly what I'm doing. *examines a radish*
NPC!Annie: *still staring*
P!Al: Well, you're not allowed to. *stares back at Annie* ...Why's she looking at me like that?
IC!Ed: *slyyy smirk* Weird things get her attention.
P!Al: I'm not weird! You and your baby thing are weird! Especially with the icky clothes she's wearing, ew.
IC!Ed: ... *puts the radish back* There's nothing wrong with Annie's clothes.
P!Al: *shakes his head* There's a lot wrong with her clothes. They're so last season!
IC!Ed: Baby clothes always look the same!
P!Al: They do not! Only a dumb, untrendy person would say that.
IC!Ed: Right, and you pay so much attention to baby clothes. *tugs on Annie's hand a little* Come on, Annie.
P!Al: Of course I do! And there you go, trying to walk away again. *glares a bit* I bet I could pick out the best, most trendiest baby clothes ever.
IC!Ed: ... I bet you'd make her look like a freak.
P!Al: Would not. I'd actually make her look cute! Even though it's almost impossible to make girls cute.
IC!Ed: ... *kinda curious -- wants amusement* ... Alright. *starts putting stuff up out of the grocery basket*
P!Al: *blinks* ...Really?
IC!Ed: Suuure.
P!Al: ...You're paying for it, right?
IC!Ed: ... Yeah.
P!Al: This is gonna be so awesome. I love clothes shopping~ *giggles*
IC!Ed: Uh-huh. *figures that Annie probably needs new stuff anyway, and even while he doubts he'll like anything P!Al picks out, he'll at least be given the chance to find nice things for her*
NPC!Annie: *doesn't really know what's going on; still staring at Al*
[Traveling! It happens!]
P!Al: *pretty much throws himself into the racks of clothes when they make it to the clothes store, starts searching for "trendy" clothes*
NPC!Annie: *still teetering alongside Ed; takes the opportunity to start tugging at what she can reach, pulling it off the shelves and hangers*
P!Al: *shows Ed a frilly red and white dress with ribbons on it* Isn't this cute~?
IC!Ed: *recoils* It's hideous!! Who in the world would put a baby in that! All she's gonna do is chew all the bows off!
NPC!Annie: *doing a pretty good job of making an unnoticed mess*
P!Al: It's trendy! And the ribbons would give her something to do! But fine, I'll pick something else out. *pouts as he puts the dress back*
IC!Ed: *notices Annie* DDDDDD: *picks her up* Don't do that Annie, no messes.
NPC!Annie: *sees the ribbony dress and instantly reaches out for it* Mama~~ Mama~~
P!Al: *horrified gasp* Make her stop ruining all these pretty clothes!
IC!Ed: *holds her out of reach* That's what she's going to do to anything you give her!
IC!Ed: *looking for something a little more utilitarian that is less likely to be destroyed by a toddler*
P!Al: Hmph. If you raised her right she wouldn't! *reluctantly picks out a unfrilly yellow dress with a butterfly on it*
IC!Ed: *rolls his eyes -- is not going to take that bait* ... See, that's not so bad. *gives the butterfly a good tug* That's what you have to look for; if she can destroy it, she will.
P!Al: She better not do that when she gets older or she'll never find any good clothes.
IC!Ed: She'll grow out of it. *smoothes her hair down*
P!Al: Good. Are her pajamas as untrendy as her clothes?
IC!Ed: *biased* No.
P!Al: ...You are so lying. *browses through the pajamas and giggles when he finds turtle footie pajamas* Hee, this would look cute even on a girl~

NPC!Annie: *delighted by the turtles* Spaaatee!!
P!Al: Well, she likes it. She was way better taste than you, obviously.
IC!Ed: She's a toddler. She likes to eat dirt. I wouldn't trust her taste for anything.
P!Al: Maybe she's only eating the dirt because she thinks turtle fairies might appear if she does!
IC!Ed: ... Turtle fairies appear if you eat dirt.
P!Al: No, but some turtle babies think that...
IC!Ed: Annie is not a turtle baby.

P!Al: *pouts* She'd look nice in frilly stuff!
IC!Ed: But the frills make it more expensive, and she is just going to ruin it. She's got frilly things to wear when she needs to look nice, which isn't often enough to warrent me paying for new stuff.

IC!Ed: Stuff like the one with the butterfly. Simple tough things.
P!Al: There aren't many cute outfits like that, though... *frowns as he looks at a white and purple checkered dress* What about this?

P!Al: Way cuter than what she has on.

NPC!Annie: *wants down; wriggling and making noise*
IC!Ed: *sits her down and takes her hand to keep her from teeter off for destruction*

P!Al: Yes! And ribbons and coats and other cute things~
IC!Ed: Mmhmm. *wonders if Annie will have the patience for that much shopping* ... If you hate babies so much, why are you so willing to find clothes for her?
P!Al: Cause I love clothes shopping! Duh. *makes his way towards the shoes and accessories*

P!Al: *looks down at Annie, finding it a bit difficult to hate her* Uhh... *grabs a couple bows and holds them up to her head to see how they'd look on her* Hmm..
IC!Ed: *watches Annie closely* Don't get anything to big or it'll fall out.
P!Al: I won't, 'cause that'd just look silly. *grabs a few ribbons and glances at the shoes* How big are her feet?
IC!Ed: A six in baby sizes...
P!Al: Okay! *picks out several shoes and sandals* I hope these match...
IC!Ed: Those look okay... *looks them over carefully*
P!Al: Now she can go outside without looking horrible and untrendy~
IC!Ed: She doesn't look horrible.
P!Al: I've already told you she does in those clothes and that's that!

P!Al: *blinks* ...What's she saying?
IC!Ed: She's repeating you. "That's that" -- datdat.
P!Al: ...Oh. Hee~ Repeat something else I say! *big grin*
IC!Ed: *shakes head* It doesn't work like that... if you say something, and she likes the way it sounds, she says it back. ... I think. I don't really get why she says some of the stuff she says. *scratches head*
P!Al: Dang. She can't say many words yet, can she?
IC!Ed: *shakes head* She only really knows a few words... she says a lot, but I don't think she knows what it means.
P!Al: I wanna teach her how to say cool things, then~!
IC!Ed: .... No. *doesn't want her saying "cool" things by P!Al's standards -- he's already got enough problems with her repeating his and Roy's dirty words*
P!Al: *pouts* Why not? I was just gonna teach her how to say things like trendy and turtle.
IC!Ed: I think that's ... a little to complex for her right now.
IC!Ed: And she already thinks she knows what turtles are.
P!Al: They aren't that complex! They're simple, easy words...
IC!Ed: Not for her. She can say short words, but everything else is just babble right now.
P!Al: How short of words? Like, only a few letters?
IC!Ed: Yeah, generally.
P!Al: Then I could just teach her words like cool and cute!

IC!Ed: ... I guess ... it'll be okay. ... Annie needs to interact with different people anyway... But I'll be watching you.
P!Al: Awesomeness~ And you don't need to watch, it's not like I'm going to feed her to a dumb hawk or something. Auntie Clara would be mad if I did that..
IC!Ed: I'd be pretty pissed too.
P!Al: I guess so, but Auntie Clara would be more mad! And might not bake me anymore cakes and yummy things... *frowns*

P!Al: *tries not to grin at her giggling* So... Does she need anymore new clothes?

P!Al: Ooo, it should be pink and have flowers on it!
IC!Ed: I don't think she'd have any objections to that.
P!Al: Good because pink and flowers are so in right now. *skips around the store, trying to locate a nice coat*
IC!Ed: *follows, holding Annie's hand and leading her around, pointing and naming things for her*
P!Al: Aha! *found the coat he was looking for* Perfect~
NPC!Annie: *teeters over, making grabby hands*
P!Al: *giggles and hands her the coat* Here you go! Don't ruin it.
NPC!Annie: *it's a little heavier than she thought it would be, just drags it around*
P!Al: Don't do that! She's going to ruin it if she keeps doing that! *tries to get the coat back*
IC!Ed: Annie, stop. Put it down, Annie.
NPC!Annie: *stops walking and looks at him* Mama! Pay!
P!Al: *decides the coat is safe now that she isn't walking around and hands the ribbons and bows he's been holding to Ed* Yeah, go pay~
IC!Ed: ... *sigh* *grabs the coat out of her hands* She means "play" but it's all the same. *grabs her hand and heads over to the cash register*
P!Al: ...Whatever. So the same thing. *stares at Annie while he waits*
NPC!Annie: *walking back and forth behind Ed*
P!Al: *somehow intrigued by Annie's walking* ...Weird.
IC!Ed: *turns around and looks at her before getting back to paying* She's just looking around.
P!Al: ...Oh. Still pretty weird.
IC!Ed: *finishes paying and gathers bags* Annie, come on. *starts to head out, keeping a close eye on her to make sure she's following* She does that... I don't think she likes to get very far away from me, so she just paces when she wants to look at something that's not close enough.
P!Al: *follows* That makes sense, kind of, but it looks weird when she does it... I should go home, before Auntie Clara wonders where I am.
