I don't really want any ill-will or animosity toward new RPers just because they're new to it. If you're new to anything, you're going to make mistakes; it just happens. And I've noticed a few of the new players making some mistakes which doesn't really make them bad players, it just makes them newbies. And I want no newbie eating here because I know you jerks are more mature than that.
Anyway, here goes a list.
- Use omgas_ooc: If you want to plan something or have a good idea for something, please don't be afraid to ask about it in omgas_ooc. Even if you're just looking for the opportunity to do IM scenes with your character.
- Comment: 90% of the action of this community is spurred by comments, so really the commenting is even more important than the journaling. Don't be afraid to do it, we're always happy to get comments on our entries. At the very least read your friends page before making a new journal and choose a couple of entries to drop comments into. No one will be offended and usually a character should have an opinion on something.
- Shot-calling: It's almost like god-modding, but not quite as bad. Before a character has a player, we can to some extent assume what the character would be doing. After the character is taken though, the player of that character is responsible for the actions of that character. That person might have a plan, and even though a lot of our players are really cool about working with other people we've had a lot of dumb drama start up about this in the past. So please, just remember to ask someone if it's okay to assume whatever before you go and talk about it. They might have been having their character scening something else or busy on the day in question.
- Contact List: Please tell me if your name is not on the contact list so that I can add it so other people can get ahold of you.
Also,
