Okay, so I was browsing Gaia Online's role-playing forum today.
I do this a lot while waiting for inspiration. Just looking at people's requests.
Maybe responding if something *really* catches my eye.
Anyhow, I just found this... amazing display of brilliance.
Just as a note before all else. I hate Twilight. With the burning passion of a thousand million suns. No amount of essays can possibly explain all the reasons why those books are not literature, but pure, horrible drivel. Just thought I'd get it out of the way before proceeding.
So here is the very interesting Twilight role-play request I ran into:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm looking for TWO roleplayers. One to play Jacob, one to play Edward, and we'll split up the OCs as necessary. Now, I'm all for Bella and Jacob being a couple, but not in this roleplay, not yet. We're going to pick up just where Bella jumps off a cliff.
But instead of Alice showing up, Edward does. He explains how he's been pining away without her, how he can't live if she's not by his side. And instead of melting into his arms and forgetting the pain, Bella says no. She refuses him and goes back to Jacob.
I want Bella to played as a strong person, Jacob as a love-struck swain intent on seducing Bella into falling for him, and Edward as a creeper. Ah, yes, Edward. He needs to be creepy, stalkery, and just icky. I don't really like his character; he needs to be unlikeable. (Seriously, sparkling?! Come on!) Of course, we all know that Bella fell for him hard; she's on the breaking point of going back. I really want this to be a twisted love triangle.

Say whaaaaat?
Okay, why am I even having a reaction? Since I hate the books and the characters altogether and I couldn't give any less of a crap about what the moron up there does with them. But see, THIS is the exact type of fantard that disgusts me the most. God, even more than Twilight itself, I hate this sort of idiots who just seem to crowd in all the fandoms in the world, including my own active ones (LOL ALL MY SHOUNEN MANGAZ HAZ THEM).
If you want to role-play (or write, it applies to non-RP too) something like that immensely ridiculous plot up there, spice it up a little and DO IT WITH ORIGINAL CHARACTERS. I can't possibly express how much it pisses me off when some idiot doesn't even *care* about how the canon characters are portrayed by their own author, and basically just wants to piss all over them.
That, up there, is what's commonly known as "canon rape". Pure and simple. And I don't give a crap about this particular case, but it just annoys me on principle. Because I see it so often in my own loved fandoms, too.
Seriously, I will never comprehend this part. What is the freaking point of using a canon character in the first place if it's not even going to be that character anymore? It's like, "I want to write this canon... except he should be like this instead of like that." Uh... yeah, that's basically another character. So how is it that canon, then? Just rename it, change looks, and go for original. And GTFO my fandom too, while you're at it. ...Although you can stay in Twilight; actually, please go there and never come back. xDDD
