2012 was maddening.
It was the toughest year I'd ever gone through.
Obviously there were some bright spots, but I'd rather have had more of those than the tough ones.
Yeah, I know I once said I liked it when things were difficult, it makes life interesting. I'm older now and have different priorities and things I don't want to lose.
Families, man. A wife and kids. Those are things that can't be replaced.
I can get other crap. I can have all the junk in the world.
But it's all worthless if I don't have my family.
Here's to the hope that this one, this new year, as bright and full of promise as a newborn child, is better than 2012.
