CHARACTER INFORMATION
Canon Character and Series: Lucas, MOTHER3
In-Game Name: Lucas Tazmily
Age: 17 18
Gender: male
Position & Ship: The Winding Way, Cabin boy

Appearance: Lucas is a lanky young boy with pale skin, blue eyes, and ruddy cheeks. His hair is blond, and curls on top of his head like a dollop of whip cream. He is not very tall (maybe a little below average height for a 17 year old boy), and isn't strong or athletic. He is quite comfortable wearing long shirts and shorts, and his clothes are almost always orange or yellow hued. Lucas is rather plain and bumpkin-ish. That's just fine to him, though, because he would rather not stand out in a crowd. (example)

He is not perfect, and sometimes comes off as awkward, but he gets a bit more confident everyday.

Personality: Lucas has been called pampered, and a crybaby. He doesn't like to take risks, unlike his older twin brother, who is far more extroverted than he is. He has a fondness for animals, and it is said that he can communicate with them. This could just be due to the fact that they seem to be attracted to him. He does not like drawing attention to himself. This does not mean, however, that he looks away from right and wrong. If he can avoid conflict, he will, but he won't leave a friend hanging. Though most of the time he would rather run away in a battle, he cares too much about other people to let them get hurt (ultimately, Lucas wants to grow and become stronger). He is also painfully honest (he fails at lying), and a bit naive to a fault. In the end, his sense of responsibility will usually show through.

Abilities/Weapons: Lucas has been blessed with psionic powers. Because of this, he is able to talk to animals. While he has been able to communicate with animals his whole life, he only recently discovered why. His powers are still very new to him, and he can only do little things, like form small shields, or heal minor injuries. (His moves will later include creating stronger barriers and full healing abilities as the game goes on. He will also learn how to counter). He knows a few offensive moves, as well, such as PK Love, which is a very strong attack that will do a lot of damage to his enemies, but it is not that strong yet. Lucas is able to utilize Rope Snake as... a rope; it can grab onto items and ledges so that he doesn't fall (Rope Snake is not invincible, though! And it will often blame itself if it cannot do a task). He doesn't get heavily involved in fighting, and is more likely to defend.

How well can your character hack?: Not well at all.

Weaknesses: As a person, Lucas isn't very strong. He would rather not fight with others. If he can get around an argument some other way, that is what he will do (though he'd prefer to never get in an argument at all). That being said, Lucas will panic if he's under pressure. It is hard for him to make decisions and he will most likely end up blurting out secrets. Oops.

As a result of the traumatic experience with his mother, Lucas is deathly afraid of ships and monsters. He will be okay as long as he is not reminded that he's on one (for example: if it is very windy, or people are talking about the ship docking, or other ships, or he gets close enough to the edge to look down). Lucas also gets airsick in tumultuous weather.

Most important of all, Lucas fears abandonment. He doesn't want to be alone, because he believes he is too weak. He relies on those he deems as stronger people to help him.

History: Once upon a time, there was a little boy who had everything; he had loving parents, a twin brother who he shared everything with, and a super smart dog. Though this boy and his family lived in the small Garrettstown, they were all very happy and all loved each other very much. Their family was known throughout the town because of their bigheartedness. Everyone loved Hinawa, the lovely wife of Flint and father of twin boys.

And then, one day, the little boy had everything he loved stripped away from him in a gruesome manner. A boat trip that was supposed to be fun and leisurely went horribly wrong when the family hit a storm. Hinawa was swept overboard. The older twin denied his brother's pleading and jumped into the water to save her. And even though the younger twin and his father waited for the two to return, neither did. They were lost to the lake.

The little boy, Lucas, was left alone. His mother's body was found later. His father went mad and was thrown in jail. And his twin, Claus, was never seen again, presumed to have been eaten by monsters.

Claus and Lucas were almost 16 years old when this tragedy happened. Up until then, they had been close. Twins normally are linked together, often sharing the same likes and dislikes, but Lucas and Claus were connected on another level besides this. They were psychic twins, blessed with the rare skill known as PK Love. Lucas struggled with his powers but always had Claus to help train him and make him stronger, little by little. Once Claus disappeared, Lucas put his psychic training on hold. In fact, all he really did for weeks was visit his mother's grave and cry. He became more withdrawn than he was before.

Even with encouragement from neighbors and friends, Lucas kept to himself in his lonely house. He would sometimes visit his father, but then he would just talk about Claus, and ask if Lucas had heard from Claus, and maybe Claus was still alive, and they should really be looking for Claus. This made Lucas so frustrated, to the point that he eventually stopped going.

It was hard to love life like Hinawa did, now that everything Lucas had was gone. Who cared about living in misery? Lucas certainly didn't. It was by chance that he and his dog went out for a walk one day and passed by a newsstand. Usually, he would not have paid any attention to the fancy magazines lying around there, but he caught a word out of the corner of his eye; psychic. Lucas snatched up the magazine and read about a young man belonging to an entertainment ship that could use powers like that.

It wasn't Claus, who Lucas had secretly hoped the article would have been about. There was a picture of this other boy. Regardless, Lucas was suddenly filled with an overwhelming desire to live again. He wanted to find this boy and ask him about his powers. That boy was on a ship by himself. He was brave and probably a lot more powerful. For the first time in forever, Lucas was filled with hope again.

Lucas had never gone anywhere by himself, so thinking about seeking out a random person in some far away land was really scary. He gathered his things, read up on the sea-space life, and took a few days to psyche himself out. At last, he went to see his father one last time to say goodbye. Lucas promised him that he would get stronger and come back one day. Until then, he would have to endure journeying alone and, hopefully, ultimately, grow up.
