Not a bad ending for a day that started 19 hours ago with a shot of heparin to the abdomen

So, I am curled up with my laptop and icing my ankle on a four poster bed that is so high off the ground it has its own little step stool. The chair and ottoman by the gaily burning gas kiva are upholstered in real cowhide, with totally awesome fuzzy brown spots. Dinner included a beet, goat cheese and artichoke heart salad drizzled in ancho oil, and pork three ways with mashed turnips and lovely baby carrots. When they accidentally tossed my leftovers instead of bagging them, I was sent away with another entire slab of pork tenderloin with a creole mustard glaze.

There were cookies, and a handwritten, personalized note left on the wooden desk. Did I mention the fruit and cheese plate that was sent to the room, courtesy of the school I am here to visit?

I may not ever leave.
