Guild

So I left my guild in Everquest 2. It got allot bigger since I left the game last year and things changed allot. They started requiring that you sign up for raids in order to be allowed to attend. This was because they wanted to be fair since we often had too many people wanting to raid. Although as far as I could tell it was completely pointless. The officers chose all the same people every time out of the people who sign up. So the same people were getting left out.

I was never excluded from a raid since I returned until one day when we went to do Emerald Halls. I fell asleep on my bed. I got an invite even though I wasn't at the sceduled destination but never accepted it. When I woke up I tried to accept the invite but the raid was full. It was my own fault so I just went to the entrance anyway in case a spot became available. While I was waiting a guildee of mine logged in and next thing I know I see him zone into the raid instance. It was a total slap to the face. I was told I couldn't raid because I was late; yet someone who hadn't even logged in yet got into raid before me?

Then in the same raid zone just the week after. I crashed during a fight and when I came back I saw in the guild log that a cloak had been looted. I asked why they didn't wait for me before they rolled. Then someone replied that the guild doesn't let afk people roll. I said I wasn't afk I was link dead, it wasn't optional; at least I helped with the fight. Other people in the guild said I should have been able to roll but the officers were completely silent. Then the same cloak drops again, and someone wins it. Then the parse for the mob that dropped it is given and someone points out the guy who won it had a 0 parse and asked if he was afk. The guy flat out admitted to being afk. Yet the officers gave him the cloak anyway. Another slap to the face. By the way, the guy who won the cloak was the same guy who got into raid before me the week before.

Then during another raid our raid leader for some reason says not to complain about loot. I have no idea who was complaining about what but I was angry at his comment anyway. Don't be an officer if you don't want to listen to complaints. Then the boss in that raid zone dropped a nice staff that I would have won if a recruit didn't out roll me. I didn't think anything of it becuase recruits aren't allowed any loot. That I knew for sure. Yet they gave it to her. I was pissed, and the raid leader already said not to complain about loot.

So I waited until my friend logged in. Her and I had been friends since before we joined this guild and I knew she would listen to me. She was also an officer. I told her my complaints about special treatment and lack of loot rules and to my surprise she threatened to put me on ignore. I was baffled. I don't even know why we had officers, none of them did anything appearently.

So I left the guild. I'm on good terms with most everyone but the officers. And I just found out today that the guy who was getting special treatment and his friend who hypocritically defended him after he won a cloak, both left the guild. I don't even dislike them anywhere near as much as the officers. Any normal human being would accept special treatment. But it takes a pretty stupid one to give out special treatment. Especially when you are so obviously being used. I hope the officers feel they too have been slapped in the face now.
