A Wet One!
Smellfest '06. That's what my best friend Melissa (Smell...long story on that nickname!) called her birthday weekend. We went camping up at Woodhouse. We'd planned to head to Harndorf, Melba's chocolate factory and do Challenge Hill (commando course) but sadly only got the first two done. The chocolate and places were fantastic! It was bloody freezing cold up there but care of a new sleeping bag I was pretty warm. We later found out there were gale force winds on the first night but we were ok. The second night was a different matter. The second tent we set up only a few hours before, due to gale foce winds and rain, one side of it collpased. The first tent we slept in on the first night was checked, it looked ok fine the outside, but on the inside was a different matter (hey a Prisoner joke!) Somehow our window seal had leaked and flooded out the tent. Almost everything was wet. My pillow was a giant frigging sponge! We sat around for a few hours weighing up our optuions on whether to stay in the cooking shed or to head home. we chose the latter and headed home at 2:30am in the morning. Apart from the coldness, wind and rain, it was actually a fun weekend. I had a ball and I'll deffo do it again. . . . .but when the weather is MUCH MUCH WARMER!
