You can't go home again - Smallville Edition

Apr 02, 2008 14:59

My mother has a couple of the early seasons of Smallville on DVD, so I decided to borrow them.

I am trying to watch them, but the memories of how the characters end up in current seasons make it difficult.  I made it through the first TWO episodes.  Here are my thoughts.

Lana:

The repeated mentioning of "the pancakes" is driving me nuts!  It is perfectly reasonable to be mentioning them in the first couple of episodes to inform the audience, and mentioning it a couple of times through the first five or six shows for late comers.  But the fact I am sick of it from the past seven years!

The perfect princess thing is the same.  At first she is a nice sweet innocent little girl, but the vicious self centered bitch she is today makes me cheer for bug-boy(the monster of the week in the second episode) to go brundlefly on her.

Chloe:

Well...  She is still awesomeness personified.  I admit her hair back then was the only truly bad thing.

Pete:

Thank god he got out while he could.  Unfortunately he returned for the "Stride Gum Variety Hour".

Lex:

Oh, god.  I forgot what a likable character he was with shades of future MB potential.

Clark:

Dear lord!  He could actually SMILE!  And, he actually could think... well he could add 1+1 anyway.  Clark looks different as well, and it isn't the fact he is younger.  What could it be?  Oh, HE HAS A WARDROBE!
