School Begins

It has been such a very long time since I last posted.
The front room where my computer sits has been torn apart and emptied, since it was repainted and carpeted. After a solid 2 weeks of being unplugged I'm back online right in time for the beginning of Spring quarter of Olympic College. I am not very excited to return to school, especially to be taking math courses. I was awful at math in high school. This time though I feel as though there is a point to the coursework. I ended up spending all of my money to enroll in classes, so I'm hoping and praying that this is the right path to landing a government job.

My cousin Kyle also applied to work in the Ship Yard on what seemed like a whim. He has been working and looking to become a police officer, state patrol man or a town Sheriff. He was called back last week and got the job! It is very good news to know he will be able to stay in the area. It didn't take nearly as long for him to hear back from PSNS as most have reported. It makes me a little nervous. People say it can take between 1 to 9 months to hear anything back. I guess he is just that good! Hoping it could be me too.

Monday night, I have the opportunity to see Symphony of the Goddess at Benaroya Hall in Downtown Seattle. I happen to know the stage engineer and he got tickets for Diane and I for a sold out show. Here's to hoping that Diane can finagle getting the night off.

Last week Diane, her parents and I went to Alderwood and Carhaus Games on an East side extravaganza. This time they had Mansions of Madness in stock. We bought it and have been getting as many games in as possible in the past week, schedules allowing. It is a very fun bored game. Fantasy Flight really likes the H.P. Lovecraft setting and I like how they present it. Very fun game. So fun that Mark decided to run out and buy his own copy the day after we played it.

Other stuff going on in my life from the past 2 weeks:
My brother has decided to move into mom and dad's house with us. At first this really bothered me, but over time and after working on the projects around here we have come to accept each other. Mom and dad have not been able to settle into him being here yet though. He takes a lot of getting used to because he doesn't think like they expect or tell anyone anything about what he is doing. They haven't learned how to talk to him (probably because the TV is more important). He is actually easy to talk to, one should not expect the truth from his mouth though. He likes to make up stories...

I hurt my back a couple weeks ago moving boxes around in the garage from my California move. I got out all of he toys I sold (from my last post) and promptly messed up my lower back. It took about a week to feel right again. It paid off however. I made $180 from selling off toys! Which went to my gas tank and buying food. Darn real life catching up to me! I need to find a part time job while going through school to be able to afford the cost of transportation. :(

My friend Kieth from Bakersfied said he would be popping up in April for a quick visit. we'll see how that goes as the date and details come into focus.
