I had a new life experience at Karate this Saturday-- namely, what it's like to get knocked down by a punch to the face.
It was mostly my own fault--I was moving in & suddenly found my head and my partner's fist trying desperately to occupy the same space. Guy's fist is so big that a top knuckle went in my right eye (which sports a little shiner) & a bottom knuckle contacted my right front tooth (which is fine). Most surprising was the insta-headache, which went away as quickly as it started.
All in good fun. I was able to continue the training, though somewhat addled & teary on one side. But hey, I guess that's the price of discovering something new!
My sinuses still hurt a little on that side when I chew.
