OK, so I'm way bored and decided to see what everybody thinks about the whole George failing thing. Like, has anybody else come up with a theory of how they're going to keep him on the show as a main character.

I think that, the people at the test results place made a mistake, and he didn't actually fail. I know, I know, it's a little far-fetched ( Read more... )

So I'm thinking it's George-favor time. (Hi all, by the way! Sorry, I know, I suck at posting) Everybody else gets them, and his wife IS chief resident. They'll do something for him, I'm sure. Whether or not that's a good idea is a totally other story, but there's not much to be done with that.

I totally believe he failed his test though. I have a theory about him not testing well. If any of you have ever looked at the official site character bios, it's set up like their personnel files. In George's, there's a letter from the dean of his med school. It basically says that though his grades may not reflect it, George is an excellent doctor. This kind of implies that maybe George wasn't the best test-taker or paper-writer. Totally feasible then, that though he knows the answers (like in the hotel room with Callie that morning) and is great at what he does, he may be easily distracted (which we saw when he was paying attention to Meredith, plus all the other stuff going on) or just not perform well on exams like that. He's much better at practicals, at least evidenced by the heart-in-the-elevator thing, and his steadily growing confidence.

That said, I would totally love to see him get jealous over some first year thinking Callie is hot. He needs to be jealous again.

I love your thinking! I could very much see someone saying similar things in George's defense to not throw him out on his ass completely. The heart-in-the-elevator incident may even be brought up! .
