the wonder years
I just today realized that my childhood is really over. I have a home of my own. Not a dorm, an actual place to live with bathrooms and a kitchen, and most noticeably, a rent. And bills. I have a job. An honest to goodness, 5 night a week job, and its for much more than extra cash. I guess I always thought as long as I went to school I was a kid, but maybe not... I feel old. I feel I have aged so much since last March.... the thought of living home again this summer frightened me. I hate that house now, and I don't even know why. I like it here. It's clean, its nice, it's a place to make new memories and not be tortured by the old ones.
Sometimes I miss the way my life was before. I worked hard and stressed about stuff, but it was always fun. This isn't always so fun. But most of the time, I like where I am now. I feel settled and organized. I haven't felt that way in a long time. I feel like I'm finally moving forward, and I like it.
So anyway, I haven't updated in a while, but life is okay. Moved in earlier this week to an absolutely beautiful place, a 2 bedroom 2 bath with Becky. Nick and Dustin had to hate us by the end of that day (3rd floor, no elevator), but they were really great troopers. Both of us had family there, too, so everything went pretty fast. We're pretty much all unpacked now, and It is wonderful. Homey and pretty. Having my own bathroom for the first time in my life is AWESOME. My own room that isnt also being used as storage is good too. Not having to walk down the hall to use a microwave. I could go on and on. It's good.
Finals are almost over (thank God), work is... well, work, and life in general is good. Dustin has to live in Lenoir this summer to do FTDF (the same show he did last year, the outdoor drama), but He'll be back a lot, and now that we're an hour and a half closer than last summer, the commute won't be so bad. It sucks, but hey, that's life. We'll make it work.
Other than that, not too much going on. I'll post pictures of the new place when I get my birthday present from Dustin (a digital camera! yay!) :) Night all.
