Standing in the door way Jen looked at the two of them and shook her head, "What is it about you leaving people to work the bar so you can play John?" Jennifer walked further inside, coming to sit down next to him. "And I hope you're not planning to keeping her all to yourself this time. I have an important date with this beautiful woman." The whole time she kept her tone teasing, today had been a good day.

"Oh leave him alone," Pepper said lightly. "The man works hard, he's allowed to play. Besides," she added, "I'd be bored just sitting and doing nothing."

Leaning on her elbows, she grinned. "And how are you today, Jen?"

"But I like teasing him mom," she smiled and looked at John before looking back at Pepper.

Jen grinned back at her, "I'm good, dying of thirst here, but good. And how is the dashing Miss Potts?"

Pepper shrugged. "Dashing is a good word, as I'm always here, there and everywhere."

She looked around the bar and gave an apologetic smile. "I really have no idea what you want to drink, Jen. Any suggestions? I'm not usually on this side of the bar." She shot a glare at John who ignored it.

John merely rolled his eyes, sipping at his gin like the gay he was at heart.

"Girls."

"Excuse me, John?" Pepper asks, raising an eyebrow. "I'll have you know it has nothing to do with being female and everything to do with the fact that people generally serve me ."

"Yeah-huh." And he's so interested. Look at how interested he is!

Jen laughed and rolled her eyes, "You know what I mean."

Looking over the bar she shrugged, "Just a beer for me thanks. I've only stopped in for a couple of drinks."

Pepped nodded and grabbed the first beer. Molson. Why not?

She opened it and handed it to Jen. "Well, bottom's up then, and tell me what's new with you."

Taking the beer she took a long sip before giving her half a smile and shaking her head, "With me? Oh nothing."

Smirking to herself she drank down more of the beer, glancing at John before looking at Pepper. "You?"

Pepper shrugged and sat down at the bar. "Not a whole lot. This break was so definitely what I needed though," she added, smiling at John.

"Sometimes, we need to be around family to make us feel normal, you know?"
