Chapter Nine: We Share Post-Seasons Greetings.

[ With Christmas holidays over, the "basketball team"-slash-teenage resistance crew has an "after school practice" behind closed doors in the gym.I know some of you probably got a "what I did over Christmas break" as an essay in English, but I want to hear the real deal. Who got hurt, who got droned, who's got something extra to fight with, and who ( Read more... )

It seems like something bad happened to almost everyone I talked to. That's really no surprise, though.

I talked to the Postman a few times, too. Seems he was just annoyed with me for not trusting him. I don't see how he thinks I could ever do such a thing.

What do you think of him as an ally?

I don't trust him at all. Not only because of the Christmas gifts. But he showed up here one day out of nowhere, along with the post office. He tricked people into trading in their internal organs and memories for their possessions from home. While he obviously has a lot of power, and is against Lucy Smith, I highly doubt we can trust him. If he wanted us to trust him, he never would have pulled what he did.

[While calm, he sounds pretty heated about this - way more riled up that Crowe ever usually is.]

What did you give him?

I didn't trade anything. There's nothing he could send me. But plenty of people did, taking advantage of them, so many people getting hurt... it's despicable what he does.

When all I asked for during Christmas was for things to remain peaceful, ended up being trapped in a delusion for three straight days, where everyone was dead. And he expects me to trust him to send us home?

You have a better lead on getting out?

.... No. Of course not. [A frustrated sigh.]

He'd be pretty helpful if we started and all-out war.

Are you planning on an all-out war?

I think it might be the only thing that can get us out.

What do you think we should do? Outright attack them? The Postman, Lucy, Grady...?

Grady and Doe could be on our side.

I-I don't know. Grady is just… insane. When we broke into City Hall… we tried reasoning with them. We understood where they were coming from. But the Mayor wouldn't listen, a-and Grady… [He just shakes his head.]

So they're dangerous, or Grady is. That doesn't mean they're with Lucy.

Honestly I don't think any of them are with Lucy, but Grady and the Mayor made it obvious they aren't on our side either. They think they're trying to protect us, when they're not doing anything. They're getting pushed around like the rest of us.

The enemy of my enemy is okay as long as he's not actively trying to kill me.
