[ Today, the doors to the high school gym are closed, with a sloppily written Secret basketball strategy meeting note taped to them. Inside, there are no drones, just school-aged kids. ]
Okay, today I want to figure out some basic stuff. First, what have people tried to get out of here? Second, what's the most dangerous stuff that happens here?

Remember that girl who failed spectacularly when she tried to help you out of the pond?
You probably don't want to invite her, but she's here anyway. In the corner. Silent. And staring.]

The material will be condensed as much as possible.
The Mayor of this town, alias Mayor Doe, makes irregular appearances and resides primarily in the Town Hall. His true name is William MacCready, as was evidenced by an accidental public broadcast made by Police Chief Grady during the time of the elections. In a general sense, the mayor is more detached from the operations of the town despite possessing abilities identical to Grady's -- namely, droning. His mode of operation is less openly hostile, primarily interacting through the telephone lines during major incidents. He ranks above the Police Chief.
During the time of the elections last fall, he was temporarily replaced by the Milkman in an as-of-yet poorly understood struggle for power. More recently, he has displayed strong hatred for the Russians native to this world.

Possessing the true name of Evan Olney, Police Chief Grady acts to enforce the 'laws' of Mayfield with punishments ranging from droning to physical violence. The powers he has demonstrated are vast -- the ability to negate supernatural powers, the ability to inflict fatal injuries instantly without a physical means, the ability to manipulate the data comprising Mayfield at his whims.
He has previously been droned himself twice in the past. Once during the time of the elections and once as a punishment by Lucy Smith for his role in the disappearances.
According to the notes recovered from Westport, Evan Olney was a member of the first resistance movement against the authorities of this town. For reasons unknown, he betrayed his friends and joined William MacCready on the opposing side.
