I just need to remind myself
It isn't me.
The last person I dated, his friends were welcoming. Despite it not quite working out, he and many of his friends are friends of mine today. They are warm and argumentative and scary and interesting. Right up until I moved, they were still trying to include me more.
The person before that, his friends were also welcoming. They were very interested as to where on earth I'd come from, made a real effort to get to know me, and again, many of his friends are friends of mine still. Heck, both of the guys in question are friends of mine today.
The fact that my current partner's 'friends' were cool, stiff, unwelcoming, and in some cases offensive and cruel, despite me being nothing but shyly polite?
Not me. I need to remind myself of that.
