I just heard a rumour that Hugh Laurie has expressed interest and willingness to play Sir Samuel Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch.
He'd be so good as Vimes!! Please, gods above, humour a dying man and make someone make a well financed, well-directed and well scripted (Wachowski brothers maybe?) huge blockbuster film after the Night Watch book, with full-British cast, with Hugh Laurie at the helm! Stephen Fry as Dr. Lawn, perhaps? Goodness, the mere thought! *faints*
