So anyway, I'm a very slow writer. Like, really slow. This may just be me, but I figured that I'd try something different, so I got that
First Draft in 30 Days book (Like I don't have enough writing books, but whatever. I'm also gonna get this one that
The Mighty Dotificus mentioned, because it's sounds good.) Anyway, I see that it's more like a 'detailed outline in 30 days sort of thing', but I'm giving it a try. And, my writing is so character-driven, I need to get stronger on plot. So I'm thinking it will give me a boost along those lines too. Higher stakes! More Conflict! How can things get even worse?!?!?
Now I'm not sure which project to work on (again). I'd been playing around with two YAs (along with a couple of nonfiction proposals), and had pretty much decided on the coming-of-age story that involves a character from the MG that I've finished. But now...this book might help me pull together my other one, that I guess could be described as a 'light fantasy'. It's in a genre that I love to read, but haven't yet written, and is a bit more somber(grief, guilt, repentance). In a way, it's more of a challenge, and that makes it more interesting to me. I want to tackle it. But...with the August fast-drafting on the Blue Boards, I'd committed to the other, and am enjoying it. It is also easier for me to work on that along with the nonfiction and a chapter book idea. But...there's that challenge aspect nagging at me... What to do? Try a week of the Wiesner way on both and then decide? Get going on the 'hard' one? Keep going with what I've started? Hmmm...
