The Change
Walking into the Apollo Theater I was overwhelmed by massive void of estrogen left by all the menopausal and post menopausal women who were attending Menopause The Musical. Even though I've been studying performance, space and identity and how all three are constructed pretty much all year, it didn't even occur to me to think about the type of audience that a musical like that would draw. There were, out of four hundred people, maybe five men, and all of them were over sixty. Crazy. The musical was brilliant, definitley reccommend taking grandmother's, mothers, aunts,sisters etc basically any female who will eventually, is going through it currently or has already gone through "the change"
