Random Thoughts
Work is boring me to no ends at the moment. I've been twiddling my thumbs since the end of November with very little work to do. I always have this fear of job insecurity at the moment because of it. At least I have several trump cards. Eight of them to be precise. Professional Engineers licenses in Eight states and I'm the only one in the company who has 6 particularly important ones. Without me they can't even go after work in those states. I feel I haven't been able to take a proper holiday with that stress even though it is a perfect time work wise. I know things are expected to get ultra busy in February. I would like to win tonight's lottery so I can retire and have a life of leisure.
I'm debating what to do for a holiday this year. I'm serously thinking of Oktoberfest in Munich. A friend of mine is orginally from there and will try to make work take him back to the home office. Still trying to convince others to commit to the trip. Airfare is certainly less than to the UK whom seem to have taxes and fees twice as high as any other country. Still might to UK at the end of March though. I've been trying to get to some places for the past few visits and I figured that would be a good time as it's less crowded.
I've been able to workout a bit lately which makes me feel good. All day long I've had the urge to exercise but since I seem to have lucked out any only got a very minor version of the nasty cold that is going around, I chose not to weaken myself and rest instead. I'm a firm believer in Zicam (quick dissolve version) If in fact I make it through the weekend I'll be happy.
Football, American Style. My lowly Giants are in the playoffs. Me along with all other Giants fans don't expect them to win on Sunday. My office is squarely in enemy territory (Philadelphia Eagles) but there are 2 other fellow Giant's fans in my office today so we wore our blues as the rest wore their funny green stuff. Of course the Eagles fans try to create a row by saying "They are going to lose" and us Giant's fans simply say "I know" I think the "I know" answer really pisses them off as it denies them a good trash talk session.
