i've been watching television almost non-stop for the last two days.
[in my defense, i've had a really bad cold, and have spent the last 4 months in a state of sleep deprivation.]
i'm almost completely sick of the tv, which is the desired effect.
...but on the down side, i've also re-discovered my pension for all things sappy.
por ejemplo:
i watched the movie "at first sight" with val kilmer and mira sorvino.
he's a blind massage therapist in a tiny mountain town;
she's a new york city architect who meets him at a spa.
every time he kisses her, he touches her face
because he wants to know what she really feels like.
yeah yeah - i did tear up.
[fuuu-huuu-huuuck.]
oh, and this movie was only the icing on my sappy cake.
"whose wedding is it anyway?" and "sex and the city" have rounded out my tv selections.
you know, i prayed for my grandfather's health last year.
maybe this year, i'll pray for a boyfriend;
and hopefully, all this sappy garbage will melt away --
or, at the very least, i'll have an excuse for my idiocy.

on a related note, i'm definitely getting out of the house tomorrow.
my itinerary includes (but is not limited to):
laundry, showering [without flip-flops!], gift shopping, maybe going to the library,
and going to the goya girls' basketball practice to see two of my favourite boys - my men in tights.
i tend to forget, from time to time,
how much i miss the dudes i grew up with.
they're all sorts of sketch-free.
