LOTR Movie Festival - Arlington Cinema Drafthouse - Arlington, VA
Now in its fourth annual installment. All three theatrical releases, in an environment where you can act fannish and get away with it. :)
The Two Towers - Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts - Vienna, VA
This one is a must-see. They screened Fellowship of the Ring last year, and it was awesome. The score is played by the Wolf Trap Orchestra while the film is playing. You can get a seat under the roof or bring a blanket and sit on the lawn (bring your own picnic basket, or order one in advance from the on-site restaurant, Ovations). If you plan to get there early, I highly recommend Ovations' buffet... :)
