Comment and I'll give you a letter. Then you have to list ten things you love that begin with that letter. Afterward, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own.
10 Things I Hate Love About Q
1. Queer As Folk: Especially the UK version, because Stuart Allen Jones > Brian Kinney. But seriously, they are both fabulous!
2. Quenya: It's the High Elvish tongue in Tolkien's world, kind of like Latin for us (Sindarin is the common Elvish language, see). Back when I was 12 or 13, I wanted a new screenname on AIM. In Quenya, 'olorwen' means 'dream maiden'. Guys, I gave myself a Mary Sue username!
3. QI: This show. Is absolutely fantastic. I learn more random, useless facts on here than I do in Quiz Bowl, and it's Stephen Fry! There was a fandom!secret a while back that said that QI was the reason they were failing out of college, and I can easily see how that would happen!
4. Queer Straight Alliance: Like a GSA, but more all-encompassing in its wording! This is the main hub of Pride Alliance at Maryland, and though I've really just joined, I love it.
5. Quartz: This is such a long song, it's lasted this whole time! It's the only Marillion song that starts with Q, see, and I had to get them in here somewhere, because, gasp! I love Marillion!
6. Qi: Not to be confused with QI, qi is the best Scrabble word in the dictionary. Placed correctly, you can get craaaazy points with it.
7. Quiz Bowl: This was one of my big activities in high school, and through it, I got to go on some pretty memorable trips. In freshman year, I got to go to New Orleans with the team (I was the youngest team member!) and live it up on the school's dollar. It was awesome. However, after our decadence, the next trips were to D.C. and self-funded. However, they were still pretty cool!
8. Q: Not the letter, the character! I don't know about you guys, but on Star Trek, the Q episodes were always the best. This reminds me, I've had a serious want of Star Trek since college started. It can't be this hard to find people as geeky as I am!
9. Questionable Content: This! Is a fantastic webcomic. It's one of my very favorites, up there with xkcd and Dinosaur Comics, and follows the lives of Marten, Faye, Dora, and a bunch of other indie kids and robots. Yeah dude!
10. Quidditch: Hee. Not only is quidditch awesome in Harry Potter canon, but it was also awesome in elementary school when we made it into a weird tag game at recess. This was during our massive Harry Potter phase, in which we made alter-egos who were all brothers and sisters of main HP cast. I was Catherine Granger. Shut up, fourth grade was awesome.
Honorable Mention: qwantz.com, the website for Dinosaur Comics! I love it and so should you!
