I have a different kind of Seasonal Affective Disorder from the one you usually hear about. As Spring turns to Summer, I find myself unable to sleep. My metabolism seems to reverse. I'll often feel nauseous for days, sometimes throwing up. I lose my appetite, can't keep food down. I feel thirsty all the time, but when I drink water, my stomach feels like an overinflated rubber ball. I will lie awake, sweating. I can't get warm in the early evening, then spend the whole night leaking from my forehead and armpits as I toss and turn, occasionally getting chills, only to cover with a blanket and start the process over again.
The rubber-ball belly thing is the most alarming part. The nausea can be overwhelming at times. I can suddenly feel feverish and bloated, then thirsty as a horse.
Honestly, it's not that bad. Just observing it, becuase i'm sure other people get this seasonal impermeable stomach feeling, and I'm wondering if someone might say, "me too!"
