James Bond: Casino Royale
Yes, I got suckered into seeing another movie.
Daniel Craig plays James Bond, and I didn't realize until a little into the movie that he looks a lot like CKR! They could be brothers!
My dad himself said that when he saw the previews for the movie (I didn't see the previews) that he thought it was CKR!
Anyways, Daniel Craig is sort of an "unknown" actor, although he's done a lot of stuff in Britain (theatre, film, and TV). The only other large role, I think, was Munich (Steven Spielberg's film) and Tomb Raider. A lot of people were complaining that he wouldn't do a good job because he's the first 'blond' Bond.
But, he really nailed it. The script may have something to do with it too. (I forgot that Paul Haggis wrote some of it, which reminds me - I also saw Flags of Our Fathers).
It focused more on character development instead of "gadgets", although there was some of those and of course, a lot of action. In addition, there was a smart woman put in instead of, you know, just picking people up for looks.
On a side note, one of the finalists for the role was actually Julian McMahon.
I think they're going to do another one. According to IMDB, Bond 22 is in pre-production.
