Things to Ponder

Jul 01, 2006 15:38

I went to Niagara-on-the-Lake yesterday where the young adults had a party in someone's big backyard. I played badminton with some people, and then we all gathered around a bonfire. Honestly, I don't know why I'm even recording that event, but I guess that's the most eventful thing that has happened. Maybe I should follow the cue of pigtailedgirl and post some analysis or quotes. Here's some that sort of tie together:

"Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don't have. Just dreaming about nice things is meaningless; it is like chasing the wind" Ecclesiastes 6:9

"Don't weary yourself trying to get rich. Why waste your time? For riches can disappear as though they have wings of a bird!" Proverbs 23:4

"Enjoy prosperity while you can. But when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. That way you will realize that nothing is certain in life" Ecclesiastes 7:14

The first one is somewhat of a stretch for me because you see from my May 23rd entry ("My Soul") I'm sort of an idealist. I also find the last one to be very true.

FYI: If anyone's interested, I have two Due South fics on FanFiction.net: To Everything a Time and Purpose and Black & White. The first one is with Ray V, the second one with Ray K. I'm new at writing these stories, so it occasionally gets a little off-course. I didn't expect to post them, but for some reason I did. I'd thought I'd mention it although I don't expect anyone to go flocking to it. It's a good place to see more experienced (and talented) writers too.
