Abby (playing with blocks): Mommy! It's the Entire State Building!
He demanded it back, and when she refused and started to run, he lunged for her and grabbed her ankle. At this point I sent him to time out. When it was over we were talking.
Me: What could you do to get Abby to stop running next time?
Him: I don't know.
Me: What makes you stop running away from me?
Him (puzzled): I don't know.
Me: What about "Please stop," does that make you want to stop?
Him (surprised): No, never!
Me (internally): Rats!
We agreed he would try it on Abby anyway, in conjunction with not chasing her.
Teddy is almost 6 months old. He just learned to blow raspberries, so now whenever he wakes up at night or in the morning it's the first thing he does.
On a side note, I've been married eight wonderful years today. Thank you for your patience, sweetness, and three marvelous children!
