The Unbelievable Truth

Feb 02, 2012 22:35

It's been a while since I've posted anything here, out of laziness mostly. Still checking the LJ comms almost daily, and every now and then I think about updating my journal, since quite a lot of stuff has been happening in the past few months, but just can't seem to find the patience to actually sit down and write anything.

The main reason for this update is I just found the Chaser are doing a new show! Except...it's going to be on Channel 7, home of shows like Today Tonight...I don't know how that's going to affect their style of comedy, but I guess we'll find out later when it airs.

Only three of the boys are going to be in it - Craig, Andrew and Julian, I think I'm okay with that.

The funny thing (for me) is that the show is based off the BBC radio programme The Unbelievable Truth (and I think they're keeping that as the title), and one of the original producers (Graeme Garden) is said to be involved as well! I've only very recently started listening to the show (thanks to the lovely uploaders at youtube) and have become addicted!

I've loved British panel shows for quite a while, but this is the first radio one I've really gotten into, and the reason I did? Well, partly because David Mitchell is the host, and he's awesome; but more because the latest series guest-starred John Finnemore, the writer of the radio comedy Cabin Pressure, which I started listening to because it starred Benedict Cumberbatch, aka BBC's Sherlock.

Hmm...just realised I haven't written anything about Sherlock here yet...and if I start talking about it I'll most likely waffle on for ages, so I'll save it for another post.

So yeah...Chasers doing a TV version of a BBC radio panel show...I'm slightly apprehensive, since British humour tend to be more subtle than Aussie humour, and tends to include more satire. But still, YAY! Another Chaser show!
