That bit kind of bothers me. That's exactly why a lot of people accuse Obama and his supporters of being elitist. Because some of them are. As though supporting someone who disagrees with them is inherently dumb and indicates a total lack of education. I don't like Sarah Palin one bit, but women who vote for McCain and Palin because they agree with their values still have my respect, because I assume that they are every bit as smart as me, have reasoned through everything, and have merely come to different conclusions. And I think this is exactly why Obama was enchanting - because he came out against this sort of demonizing of one's opponents. Just because someone believes differently doesn't make them bad or dumb. Hell, they may even be right.
