Canterbury Cove - a BaCC: Week Six - Albrecht
I am sorry that it has taken me over a month to get this out, but I have been extremely busy with school. (Which is pretty lame.) I hope that you enjoy this update nonetheless. :)
You've probably noticed that there is someone new living in our house and there is a simple explanation for that...
"I'm pregnant..." I had said to Joel after I invited him over to our new house. He enveloped me in a big hug and had the hugest grin on his face.
"That's awesome!" he replied, and beamed at me. "Perhaps you would like me to move in to help take care of you and the baby?" he asked, "If it is indeed mine!" he said, jokingly.
I laughed back weakly. "I wouldn't mind the help," I said.
And so Joel moved in.
With our new big house, Richard and Bailey said that there was plenty of room for him and they wouldn't mind at all if he lived with us. Richard and Joel were already friends and Richard seemed pretty happy that he would be moving in. Especially since he knew that I was carrying Joel's baby.
It turns out that I wasn't the only one pregnant either. Bailey had been getting morning sickness as well.
I'd have to say that the morning sickness is definitely not fun. On TV they always glamorize the shows with the pregnant mothers, but being pregnant really isn't that glamorous. Yeah, it's great to think that you are making a new life but I was always tired and grumpy and moody and I always wanted foods that I couldn't have.
Joel helped out a lot, but being a pleasure sim, he spent a lot of time doing some really strange things.
He eventually got a job in the slacker career in order to achieve his lifetime want of becoming a professional party guest.
Bailey and Joel seem to get along well enough. They are really almost complete opposites of each other so it surprised me that they do, but at least I can feel reassured that they won't be attracted to each other or anything.
Richard has been spending a lot of time at his business, Albrecht Auditorium, and it has been doing really well.
So well, in fact, that he decided to invest in a new business, Delights. It is a bakery where he sells food that Bailey makes. She really is somewhat magical in the kitchen when it comes to cooking desserts.
It's rather small but it is quite cute and I'm sure once we have a bit more money it can be turned into something really nice.
Unfortunately, Delights seemed to be full of bad luck for Richard. Not only did he get a bad review, but the stove also caught on fire twice.
Then after the fire, one of his employees quit.
Although he quickly hired another one.
He also informed me that just like her mother before her, Becca tried to flirt with Richard at his store. However, he set her straight and let her know that he was a very happily married man.
Fortunately, after those few incidents, things really started to look up.
Then, on top of everything else, Richard joined the business career in hopes that if he did well enough, eventually more people would want to move to Canterbury Cove and perhaps the addition of a business district could be in the future for our town.
Both he and Joel were doing very well in their careers.
Richard seemed quite excited that Bailey was expecting. I think that since we moved to Canterbury Cove he has been the happiest that I have ever seen him.
Joel seemed excited too, which rather took me by surprise. It was like I was seeing a side of him that I hadn't expected he had. It made me feel very strange.
Living the way we are is strange. We're like one big extended family under one roof, something you don't see much of nowadays.
Bailey and I decided that we were both getting bigger with each passing day. It was nice to have someone to share my feelings with who knew exactly what I was going through. Though perhaps neither of the boys liked having to take care of two very pregnant women.
I didn't let my extremely large belly get in the way of mine and Joel's intimacy, I am a romance sim after all.
But things had all of a sudden become very different... We almost seemed like a married couple and I didn't know if I liked it. I was starting to become very attached to Joel and that scared me. I knew he was just going to hurt me and I didn't want that to happen again. So I decided to do something about it.
"Uh... I hope that isn't mine..." Nick said as he eyed my very pregnant belly warily. I had invited him to 'hang out' while Joel and Richard were at work and Bailey was taking a nap. We had dated a few times before, but we both knew that it was nothing serious.
"No, don't worry, it's not," I said, feeling a little disgusted. Joel would have never said anything like that..., I thought to myself, but I pushed the thought out of my mind.
"Should I, uh, leave or something? Maybe come back another time when you aren't so... you know... pregnant?"
"Just think about it this way," I said to him as I grabbed him up in my arms and bent him over to kiss him, "no matter what we do, I can't get any more pregnant than I already am."
At this, his face lit up and he followed me inside.
Things progressed rather quickly from there.
And after an hour or two I kissed him goodbye, with plenty of time to spare before Joel would be home.
I felt very, very guilty and upset at what I had done. However, I kept telling myself that it was only a matter of time before Joel was going to step out on me, so I might as well beat him to it.
That very same night, Bailey went into labor.
And had a beautiful baby boy with her hair and eyes, and both of his parents' skintones. They named him Frederic.
To say that Richard was overjoyed would be a gross understatement. Every time he was around Frederic his eyes would shine and he would be full of smiles. He seemed like he was on cloud nine.
Frederic was a very cute baby and Bailey was proving to be a wonderful mother. I hoped that when I had my baby, I could be just as good as her.
Soon after Frederic was born I woke up from a deep sleep and realized that I was in labor. Joel was very supportive and I delivered our baby, a boy named Garen, with no problems. He has my hair, his father's eyes, and both of our skin.
Joel and Richard both proved themselves to be great fathers as well as uncles. Basically anyone with empty hands was given a baby to take care of. I think the experience brought us all a lot closer.
I can't believe I am now a mother and an aunt to two beautiful baby boys.
Because there was so many people to take care of the kids, and Bailey had decided to be a stay at home mom, I was able to continue going to work. A life as a musician is hard and I've had to pick up some very strange jobs and have had to wear some really interesting outfits. But it has definitely been worth it and I think I am pretty close to achieving my dream of becoming a professional musician.
I haven't had as much time to spend at my store, but with the time that I've had, I've been getting much better at running it and it has been becoming more successful.
Time goes by so fast. Before I knew it, it was Garen and Frederic's birthdays.

We've slowly been teaching them how to walk, talk, and use the "big boy potty". It's hard, but worth it.
Especially since they are so cute.
Hopefully one more will be fine...
