ooph. i am so glad the drama of elections is over. both had stances on specific issues that i agreed with, and so it was hard to ever really be 100% sold on either candidate. i am very excited to see what happens with health care, and more specifically with women's contraception - if it will become covered by insurance or not. here's to hoping it will. also, here's to lessening class stratification and building a better life for all.
however, i am pretty embarrassed by how many of my friends are reacting, post the results. like really - i'm humiliated by their temper tantrums, their lack of faith, their blatant rudeness, and by their posts on fb that are complete logical fallacies - and yet are posted - up for all to see, and to associate with members of the church. come on guys, didn't we just hear an awesome CES fireside talk from Elder Holland about not leaving our religion at the door, about being good sports, and not polarizing people? ..how quickly we forget these things.... i really wish people in the church were acting with more class. it's a poor reflection on us, on our church and on our faith.
praying for all our leaders, always.
also, 113th senate has a historic amount of women senators. awesome.
