I loved this. You definitely hit a bittersweet chord here, with very sad notes ringing true. If you were worried about your ability to write grief, you needn't have been, but perhaps you were more worried about the reception? Either way, it was irrational - you've done a beautiful job, as always.

Yeah I depressed myself when I was writing this. I almost cried. I need to go write some fluff now to make myself feel better.

I KNOW! OMG etc. I understand why she did it, so that there's a sense of no one being invincible and war touches everyone blah blah, but come on...Fred? :( He's like my favorite character too.
