[Oliver is sitting on the beach when he turns the sphere on. He has obviously been swimming, as his hair is wet, and he is wearing a pair of swim trunks, but he has pulled on a T-shirt since then--the first hint that his normal inhibitions are back, including his self-consciousness about his scars, which are safely hidden by the black shirt]
[his expression is stormy, worried, but when he begins to talk, he forces a smile and takes a shaky stab at a normal tone]
Hey! Um...I know I've been...well...not really myself. Lately. But! Whatever it was, it seems to be over now. I think. [his tone slips a bit, growing slightly bitter] Heh, not that I knew anything was wrong to begin with. Maybe something still is!
[he stops at that, sighing and putting a hand to his head] Look, really what I wanted to say is that...I'm sorry. I asked people so many things that I had no right to ask. Especially when people couldn't help but answer! And I went off saying things that... [sighs, lowering his gaze] ...that I never should have said. [looks back up, trying very hard to sound cheerful] But don't worry! It may have sounded bad, but I'm okay, really! [forces a smile]
And as far as anything else... [runs a hand through his hair, nervous] If I said or did or asked anything that's upset you and you'd...well, you'd rather not keep chatting with me, just say so. I'll leave you alone.
And Lara... [his voice catches] Sorry isn't enough. There's nothing I can say that would be.
[takes a deep breath, trying for normal again] That's it, I think. Take care, Crucible. [reaches up and shuts off the sphere--not that this will stop you from messaging him if you wish!]
