How many? Even one is too much.

And I told them to go up there...

You didn't know. We didn't know...

But it was foolish to leave them there! That section of the ship, more than any of them, has been effected by the most change! Two cycles ago they weren't even there!

No, we should've gathered people on level 15. Or 14. I doubt if even the Enviro-dome will be safe soon. Or even these rooms.

Doctor, calm down. There's no way to know. Remember, it skipped the Enviro-dome last time and went straight for the shops. Anywhere could be safe--or it could be dangerous...

Yes, but back then, the shops stopped functioning long before then, remember?

But everything was still functioning when this just...happened!

Wrong. The engines aren't working, the forest and Chicago were nothing more than walk-in black and white photographs. Their function had ceased long before that anomaly took over and wiped everything out. And never mind all the doors in the maintenance hub we couldn't access. I'm fairly certain that whatever was behind them wasn't working either.

But what about the rooms? This is just eating through things! If it goes to the shops...

We should stock up--stock up and bring those supplies to the lowest level we can. Or hide supplies in different places on all the different levels, just in case...

Then we go lower. Hide in the library or those offices we were in before. Those could be temporary lodgings for people.

Then we should stock up those areas now.

[just gives you a look that says, "Duh Oliver."]

You know, it occurs to me, Oliver, that I don't think I heard a single bit of snoring coming from you at all during the night.

What, are you accusing me of snoring? I don't snore!

bit_impossible June 13 2009, 21:32:59 UTC
Oh, did I say snoring? I meant the little noises and sounds you make when you're having a nightmare.

And I doubt you've suddenly found a cure for those.

[his expression darkens; looks away] I had trouble sleeping.

Hmm, even then, you do manage a little sleep despite the nightmares. Don't think I haven't noticed while I've gone to make a cuppa.

What's going on, Oliver?

I...I don't know, Doctor. I didn't sleep--not even a little. And it's not that I'm not tired... I thought I was just too worried, but then I talked to Ammy, and she didn't sleep either. And she's sure she should be able to sleep if she wants to.
