You and I haven't spoken before, but this is Nicole's husband (hence why I'm posting on her account) and Koda's first adoptive "daddy". Since Nicole told me about Koda's condition, I've been dreading a post like this. But I wanted to say - from the bottom of my heart - thank you so much for making sure that Koda's last few months were as comfortable as one could have hoped for. I know, just from the tone of your post, that you loved her as much as I did. I couldn't ask for anything more than that from you. Neither could Koda. So what you did means more to me than you know.
I also want to apologise for you having to share in the pain of losing her. It's something I wouldn't wish on anyone, but much less on someone like yourself who selflessly adopted them when Nicole's and my RL precluded us from immigrating Koda and her sisters to the UK. My only regret in all this is that I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to her. So once again, I'm sorry that it was all on your shoulders in the end.
Nicole will pass you my contact details should you wish to get in touch or something.
Sincerely,
Luke
