I really like my vets...

... but I've been to the office 6 times already this year. Poor Darla has kennel cough. It's just unfortunate timing and Darla's bound to pick up doggie colds the more I walk her. I'm kicking myself in the butt because it's probably my fault she's got her second illness this year. She's finally starting to behave around other dogs in certain situations. And I want to encourage all of those good behaviors, so I have allowed her to sniff noses. And yet, increased contact with other dogs will increase her exposures. Now, my budget is completely shot already this year.

Now, if you know me, you know I'll do whatever it takes to make my pets healthy and happy. But there are some days when it wears on me. Last night, after running to the vet (and I am eternally grateful that they stayed open a little longer to fit us in before closing) and then running to a couple of stores - it was already 9 pm by the time we got home. I did a few things I had to finished before bed and crashed. I had to get up early today, and I sacrificed going to the gym, just to have the time to pay my bills. And when I get home tonight - it's feed everyone, make sure Darla takes her antibiotics, and make sure Salem gets insulin. And I am definitely going to the gym tonight! Now, just to figure out when to fit in dinner...

Luckily, Andrew and I have a 4-day weekend coming up. It's going to be a busy four days with appointments and errands all day Friday. But, we are hoping that the weather stays cold and we can get away on Monday for a day of skiing. I also should add to my to-do list to get the before pictures of our bathroom. We know what we want to do on the remodel but we still need to find tile and a vanity that isn't overpriced for the quality.

Oh and the two of us are refreshing the woot page today in hopes of finally being able to buy a roomba. There is no end to the amount of fur that our pets shed. And with the forced hot air system and hard wood floors, we get tumble weeds of fur. It's completely unmanageable, even with me vacuuming 2-3 times a week. So, we have decided to get a roomba and run it ever day in the living room. I'm sure it's going to freak out Moody pretty bad - he won't run away from the vacuum. It scares him, but he must keep watch. I might have to set up my video camera to see what he does when we aren't around.
