This is a follow up to my facebook status yesterday.
Yes, I am calling animal control on my neighbors (the triplets). They have a young doberman - probably less than a year old because we've been watching it grow since we moved in. They do not keep it on a leash. It is a general nuisance because it is black and it darts into the road. I can't count how many times we've heard squealing tires because of this dog, or seen traffic back up on our road. Last week, it ran over to Darla and me while I was taking her out just before bed. We couldn't see the doberman until it came out of the shadows. I was fuming mad, but alone that night, so I didn't confront them. Darla is not good with other dogs. She's even worse on her own property because she wants to protect it. I've been walking her around the house to lead her up to walking the property line. The doberman followed us behind the house. Darla flipped her shit and was barking like crazy. I only had the nylon collar on her, so all I could do was hold her back. Her front feet were in the air and she kept barking. I yelled several times to, "Come get your dog." I would lose control of Darla if I moved. The first little shit came over and gave me attitude. Listen buddy, I'm in my own yard with my dog on a leash - and yours is not on a leash. I don't need to justify myself. The second one was a little more apologetic, but I'm done with them. The next time they block our driveway, we are calling the cops. The next time they do anything suspicious (like drop cut branches into the road) we are calling the cops. Rumor is that they are losing the house to foreclosure, and I couldn't be happier.
And the other news is that Salem kitty is not doing so well. We took her in for her rabies vaccination with an exam. She's lost a pound since we took her in August, before we began the fluid treatment. She was already showing signs of dehydration, even though we gave her a treatment on Monday. These are really bad signs. We are going to have to separate the cats while they eat, which unfortunately means Salem is going to be in the bedroom all day. Moody keeps trying to steal her food. We will be giving her 200ml of saline twice a week versus the 100ml she was getting. She's a real trooper though. She's taking the treatments well and she is eating her food.
Sigh, guess I should call animal control now.
