We took Darla to petsmart to be groomed last night. She did wonderful, but she was still a little wet when she came home. And, she smelled how I remember my grandma smelled. Whew, at least we know we won't have to deal with the dog stink all of the time.
Rex and Moody both went to the vet. Moody had a rough car ride and threw up in his carrier. He also provided a stool sample. He looked horrid when we arrived. But, he's not sick, so by the end of the visit, he was acting more like his old self. We also got his distemper vaccine so that we can let him outdoors (always supervised though.) We are looking into a fly line for Darla to go outside as well.
Rex did pretty well too! The vet thinks that the tumor is probably a bacterial infection. We gave him a shot of baytril. I have to decide if I want to follow up with daily antibiotics. It's just so hard on how to decide what is the worth of a pet. Rex is a guinea pig and as attached as I am, I cannot justify spending hundreds of dollars on him. He's 5 years old, which is starting to get up there in guinea pig years. I will do what I must, what I can to make sure he is comfortable.
